Black Lion 4 - 1 County Oak B
Bob Osborne 420 v 5340 Brian Muggeridge** Colin Southouse** 7980 v 3540 Alan Brackenridge Dave White 4600 v 1480 Sandra Hall** Darren Newnham** 4810 v 1060 Jean Brackenridge Phil Osborne 11620 v 930 Zoe Stoner**
the match was closer than the results suggests, Bob lost a nice break chasing Brian, Alan was ahead for a fair part of the game, Sandra and Dave were close until a nice 3k near the end, jean was well up on Darren until another lost break, Only Phil looked confident and got the well deserved 10k break, the 1st of Many at the Black Lion we expect!

County Oak A 3-2 Plough
Joe 7150 - 6210 Ros** - this was played last...scrappy beginning, Ros made a very nice 5.5k break in the middle which Joe beat with an excellent break against the clock, the additional "injury time" used to his advantage
**Nigel 5400 - 6470 Chase - Nigel missed on 4k, Chase going well when pegging a split. Nigel couldn't get them back and Chase did, making a very solid break to win
Jack 0 - 3610 Trevor A** - Trevor added a few each time, he seemed to get the break back every time he went to the table playing good shots. Jack was the opposite, although he did get them back with enough time but under hit a split shot and pegged next shot
**Marcus 10,600 - 2150 Trevor R - Excellent leg from Marcus, two 5k breaks. Trevor couldn't get anything going until it was too later
Matt 8160 - 890 John** - played first, scrappy beginning and a couple of "woeful" shots from me, often leaving the balls awkward for John, who had no luck. I did play half properly for a while which was enough for the point
Unfortunately, Geoff was laid up with a bad back so we hope he gets better soon. Good night of bar billiards with the visitors fighting hard. Apologies about the issues with the clock and thanks for accepting the situation. Marcus has adjusted it again and hopefully it will be better for next time
