As with most of the other opens so far this year we are really struggling with numbers. Please if would like to enter either give your entry forms to Matt Jones or Cliff Slade on Sunday at the Kent Open, or send them in the post. We really don't want to have to cancel :(
Thank you Dawn

List has been updated.
Please - if you are planning on entering please let us know. We are doing the draw on Tuesday 25th July, so will leave it open until then. We are only up to 47, this is 30 down on last year, we really don't want to make this the last Bucks Open :(
Thank you Dawn :)

Well done to Nigel Senior on winning the Bucks Open. He defeated Lee Radford in the final with both players finding the table tough, plenty of times the white missing the right hand 50 and Nigel's break of 5k being the highest of the final. Nigel had beaten Tony Martin in the semi finals and Lee had beaten Mark Tafford. It was the second consecutive year that Lee had finished runner-up, maybe he will go one better next year? Nigel took the high break prize during an excellent match with Gerry Fitzjohn, the Fitz going off with 18k plus but Senior coming back with 20k. Pauline took the ladies high break of (I think) 4820, well done Pauline.
There was a high quality plate final, with Bob Hall making it a Sussex hat-trick of wins overturning the 12k lead that Steven Sheard had built. With Steve's break to come it looked curtains for Bob but an early miss from Steve let Bob in, he made an excellent 15k break for the win. Well done Bob. Bob had beaten Dawn Jordan in one semi and Steve had beaten Matt Jones in the other.
There was definitely one result that caught the eye and that was an excellent win for Jean Brackenridge in beating the 2015 World Champ Paul Sainsbury
Thanks to everyone involved in the organising and the running of the 2017 Bucks Open especially Chrissie and Dawn.
QUARTERS Lee Radford beat Kevin Tunstall Mark Trafford beat Phil Osborne Nigel Senior beat Mark Brewster Tony Martin beat Jean Brackenridge
SEMI-FINALS Lee beat Traff Nige beat Tony
RUNNER-UP Lee
CHAMP Nige

Good report Matt, well done to Nigel and Lee. To Bob Hall in winning the plate.
Big thanks to all the organisers and the people who helped set up the club and take everything down again, this again was a great open and we have to consider those setting up can only get in on the Sunday morning so a very long day. The raffle as usual was excellent. The venue is very good, and good to see not too much trouble getting scorers to keep the day running smoothly.

Thanks to the many, many people who checked yesterday over and above to support players, TJ is right there were many that stepped in to help, especially those who kindly did it once asked by me - you know whom you are Sadly I know of at least 5 players that did not check one single game throughout the whole day and you know whom you are, which is scandalous - yet others checked theirs - some of whom got through many rounds. I believe all Opens should in future record the checker on the score sheet and then publish who checked. That aside and not wishing to down what was an excellent event - Tables yesterday were superbly set up, with many high breaks on various tables - Bucks should be proud of themselves for their hard work here !! Dawn made my life easy on the desk, ably assisted by Nigel with a great draw and spread sheet. Bob Hall made my life hell for most of the day could someone please ensure he wins a raffle prize soon ?? and if possible a drone bless him !! Or maybe Lorraine could buy him one for Xmas and pretend he won it in a raffle ?? I do though want to say that I believe he was STAR of the day re his consistent scoring in his games and positive attitude. Steven played very well re RU Plate Well done Nigel ! Unlucky Lee - you will do it next year

Thank you to all who organised the bucks open. I think that the Cressex Centre is pretty much my favourite away venue. Fun last year and ditto this. One day I will aspire to the later games!

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our Open, which hopefully you all enjoyed. Thank you to the Cressex Club for their continued support.
Well done to Nigel for winning the 18th Bucks Open, to Lee the losing finalist (here's to next year Lee - 3rd time lucky) and to the losing semi finalists Tony and Mark. Also congratulations to Bob Hall on winning the plate (even though he slaughtered me in the semi final!!) and to Steven the losing finalist. The highest men’s break of 20,020 was won by Nigel, and the ladies break of 4,820 was won by Pauline.
Lastly, thank you to everyone from Wycombe who helped unload/load the tables (we managed to leave a little earlier this year - 2.00am!!), Ernie & Matt for setting them up, Dave for the usual delivery/collection, Doug for all your help, the table sponsors, Sue & Jeff for selling raffle tickets brilliantly again (with the help of Cliff), all the people who donated prizes (especially Syl Murphy who every year never lets us down with brilliant prizes - one day you will win a Drone Bob Hall), Pauline for folding the tickets as usual, Nigel for doing the format (as he does every year and would be lost without him), Jean for your format which saved me so much time this year, and lastly to my lovely partner in running the day Chris (although you are right Chris, playing and running it just is not possible, I apologise for getting to the Plate semi and leaving you to it), all of us in Wycombe thank you – and as ever, please can we book you for next year :)
PLEASE NOTE THAT NEXT YEARS OPEN WILL BE A WEEK LATER - SUNDAY AUGUST 12TH
See you all soon Dawn
