Great league table. I would say that Albion A are second as they have won more individual games than Romans C

A close match that the visitors will probably feel that they should have won, the home team captain certainly left the venue humming the theme tune to "The Great Escape"! A big thank you to our 2 reserves (Gary & Sandra) that played tonight, with Sandra's good win in the 4th leg proving vital on the night. With the tables being removed from the pub after Brighton Finals next week, it is the end of an era at the Romans which has been a venue in Brighton and Worthing League for many years.... many thanks to the venue for hosting us this season and for the nice pizzas they provided tonight.

Albion C 4-1 Swan Nomads **Matt 6050 - 850 Tony Nigel 8570 - 3620 Nick** Michelle 3130 - 2450 Paul** **Jean 8090 - 1350 Neil Tupps 1100 - 3470 Adam** Table a little more tricky than usual tonight Enjoyable evening in good company, helped by some excellent tunes on the jukebox and (more surprisingly) a "slightly" inebriated home captain who had clearly had an enjoyable afternoon

A good evening at the Smugglers to end the season. Plenty of banter, and some close games. Chris looking good but got caught out by left hand roll and came off at 2k but kept his score. I got them back and off early. Top end very whippy and both of us struggled, I managed to level with another small break and won the top end battle to win. Steve off early, Pete struggling with the top end but kept battling away to take the spoils. Dave off early and Rick played a great leg looking far more comfortable than the rest of us. Ted and Steve had a right old ding dong battle with Steve just prevailing. Andy off at 2k, Mal never getting the balls back, and Andy adding to his lead.

White Hart A 3 Henty 2
A competitive match to finish the fixtures with, with the Henty pushing us all the way.
Molly 7400 v 80 Mick Pope - Terry was going well on 3k when horseshoeing a split. He went of the side cushion to touch the object ball but left it short. Fortunately he was first to get them back and made enough. Nipper 5970 v 6720 Bob Hall - Bob missed both balls on the break and the game got scrappy. Chances for both players before Bob secured the leg. Fitz 2750 v. 11290 Joe Oak - A nice steady 8700 from Joe put the leg out of Gerry's reach. Joe added a few more. Chocie 12820 v 950 James - Stu off early but a couple of breaks later levelled the match. KT 9110 v 6960 Chris Oak - Steady start from Chris , 6500, setting me a target. I touched on at 9k.
I'd like to say a big thank you to Gareth & Kayleigh for looking after us this season. Always a pleasure to play for a great landlord and good friend. So pleased to bring the title back to the Hart.

How unkind Mr. Jenner, your opponent allows you to sneak the win and, no doubt, buys you a drink and you reward him by calling him a "git"................
