Please find the draw for the Horsham Men's Singles Semi-Finals to be played on Tuesday 16th May at Roffey Cricket Club
Dave Howlett 0 v Jim Greensted 2 (8pm) Stuart Carruthers 1 v Clive Thompson 2 (9pm)
• All matches shall be played on neutral tables and shall be the best of three games. • The first break for games one and two shall be decided by the toss of a coin, with the winner having the choice of break in the first or second. • Even breaks shall be played in the third game, the first break being decided by the toss of a coin. If the player going first has played out more than half the time, and his opponent’s opening break is still in progress when the bar drops further coins may be inserted. However the time allotted will not exceed that of the first player. • In doubles matches the player who takes the first shot for their pair in the first game shall not take the first shot for their pair in the second game, meaning the order of play shall be A-B-C-D in game one and D-C-B-A in game two. In the event of a third game the players who did not take the break for their pair in the first two games shall take the breaks. • Players may not practise on the table on the day of the match. • If a player is unable to play on the date shown can they please contact their opponent at the earlier opportunity and rearrange. Can they also let the Competition Secretary know the details. • If any player/pair fails to turn up within 30 minutes of the start time of their match having not informed either their opponent or the Competition Secretary beforehand they will be eliminated from the competition unless exceptional circumstances prevailed. • If possible can you please arrive early/stay late to score the other match played at the venue that night

Dave 0, Jim 2 To quote Foxy:
Stu 1, Clive 2 Terrible 1st game for me after I was put in to bat. 1k-4k. Stu only went off with 1.7k in the second and I came back with 3k. It seemed like Stuart's match as he overtook me, but he was faced with one of those in-off 100 shots where the angle isn't quite right with danger of a peg. After some thought he decided to blast it but double-kissed and got the peg anyway. 5k-4k and 1-all. The last was a good toss to win and I went away with 3k, Stu broke down on a thousand and I added a load more before Stu sportingly conceded.
Many thanks to Rick Langridge and Johnny Miller for scoring for us.
