There are only two proposals so far with little time left. If there are any more, I must receive them no later that midnight tomorrow. I will publish the two that I have on Friday.

There are three proposals in total for this year's AGM to be held upstairs at the Tarring Club on Thursday 27th July. Start time 8.15pm The first two are from the committee. Don't forget, if you want to have your say as to whether we accept them or not, you need to attend this meeting. Once they're voted in (or not), you will have to wait another year before a change can be made again.
Proposal 1
We would again like to introduce the 4 player rule into our league after narrowly failing to do so last year.
Any team that can only field 4 players on a league night will be allowed to redraw one of their team to play the fifth game. That player will be against the break, regardless of whether he/she had the break earlier in the evening. The draw for the fifth game will take place after game four, allowing for any of the registered players from the team that is short to still turn up and play. If they do, they must be included in the match.
This rule can be implemented only 5 times during the season and by a different player each time.
The League Secretary and Competition Secretary will keep a track on which teams have used the redraw and which players double up so the rule doesn't get abused.
If any team does redraw a player for a second time during the season and he/she wins that leg, they will forfeit that game and therefore possibly the match.
Proposal 2
Amendment to Rule L5 - When Division 2 teams play a team from a higher Division, they will receive all 5 breaks (Home & Away). A draw to be made at the start of the match.
Please delete ( A draw to be made at the start of the match)
Proposal 3
All League matches to be drawn out instead of Captains nominating. Proposed by Colin Southouse Seconded by Ros Appleby

Don't forget, if you want to have your say as to whether we accept them or not, you need to attend this meeting. Once they're voted in (or not), you will have to wait another year before a change can be made again. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the AGM this year as we are playing the second leg of our Watney Mann cup semi-final tomorrow evening.... it is a shame that "proxy" votes are not allowed as it seems that fewer people attend the AGM's in every league as the years go by. If I was allowed a proxy vote, this is what I would vote for.... Proposal 1We would again like to introduce the 4 player rule into our league after narrowly failing to do so last year.
Any team that can only field 4 players on a league night will be allowed to redraw one of their team to play the fifth game. That player will be against the break, regardless of whether he/she had the break earlier in the evening. If any team does redraw a player for a second time during the season and he/she wins that leg, they will forfeit that game and therefore possibly the match. Yes, I would be in favour of that but only with an amendment that the new rule would be for Division 1 and 2 teams only. I think that nearly all of the Premier Division teams probably have enough people signed on as reserves that they should not be allowed the 4 player rule. Having said that, I can see mistakes being made with captains forgetting who has / has not played as the additional player before and that part does mean more administration for the league officials. Proposal 2Amendment to Rule L5 - When Division 2 teams play a team from a higher Division, they will receive all 5 breaks (Home & Away). A draw to be made at the start of the match.
Please delete ( A draw to be made at the start of the match) Obviously if proposal 3 (below) comes into effect then this proposal would not apply.... maybe an idea to vote on that before this one? If proposal 3 is rejected, I would in favour of this proposal as it would then mean all 3 divisions will have captains nominations. Proposal 3All League matches to be drawn out instead of Captains nominating. Proposed by Colin Southouse Seconded by Ros Appleby Yes, I would vote in favour of that just to try it for a season and see what happens.... variety is the spice of life they tell me. On a final note, I am pleased to advise that we (Romans C) have found a new venue for next season and hope to have the new table in at some time next month.... I will give more details when the table is in situ.
