On behalf of the White Horse can I say a massive thank you to Taffy and the rest of his team who made the trip down to Sudbury for a fun night of bar billiards, after a few games of singles it was doubles all way with Taffy and his team mate, think it was Colin remaining unbeaten all night.
This was truly a great night of billiards played in the tradition of four pin, plenty of beer, lots of banter and some food thrown in.
Judging by the way the Newmarket lads took to the narrow top I think they could well find themselves the team to beat at the 4x4 national team K O next month
Thanks again Taffy

Big thanks to you all for making us so welcome, some landlord too! what a platter he put on!
I know everyone had a great night and Alfie became a Grandad at about the moment we left!
that was a good narrow table and not as difficult as i thought it would be! all of us were going for our shots, just colin beat me...and he took me apart when he did!
I don't how many times we didn't put the red on the 'D'. Andy hadn't played since 1995 which is 22 years...he couldn't even remember the value of the holes!!!!
we'll be pleased to have one more session in september with you and I hope, if you agree, we four and 2 of you is about right as people I think are happy to play 2 on and one off. it works!
the other thing they found weird was having a shadow on the table. we're used to skittles and no shadow.
cheers again!

No mate, it was only a friendly knock about. At first the scores were low but towards the end of the night they have moved into the same zone as our average scores for a narrow table of between 2500 and 3500,

Well Taffy and his gang made another trip to the white horse last night for some last minute practice ahead of next weeks National 4x4 four pin team tournament. After a game of doubles between themselves they were challenged by the White Horse kitCats duo of Emma and Michelle O'Flynn and the girls gave the Newmarket lads a lesson on how to play a narrow table. Unfortunately the Newmarket team knew the standard Suffolk weakness and made sure they bought the girls plenty of drinks, as Emma and Michelle's game went down hill the Newmarket lads came into their own mastering the break shot and the angles of the narrow table and must be feeling quietly confident ahead of next weeks tournament.
This was yet another great and friendly night with a great bunch of lads

thanks yet again Dave to you, the pub for the food spread and the girls we played. they really played well, i think we were all in shock the way they started! Jeez ..... H Chr** they started off with 600 off both balls!!!!!!
we are also getting on really well as well as a team. don't forget that we were a tight bunch of lads 30 years ago and we have TONS to talk about!!!! I think the lads are genuinly pleased to be doing it as opposed to saying yes to something that sounds mildly interesting!
I hope you're fit mate and enjoy a great day on saturday.
regards
Taffy
