Excellent night with the Marine View, close game going to the decider, lovely spread of chicken poppers and French fries. John missed both on the break, but James could not get them back all game, John out scoring James at the top of the table. Martyn lost his opening break, Joe got them back and lost his break, Martyn lost another 1k, Joe got them back 4k and touch and added some more to make sure. Bepo opened with 1k, Mal replied with 1.5k and then touched on 5k to make sure. Matt opened with close to 2k, Steve same as James could not get the break back so Matt kept his lead to take the match to a decider. Dave off early, balls going awkward and whatever I tried could not get the balls back, decided if couldn`t get them back I would pot at the top end to make sure. Very relieved captain. Table was fine but some of us struggled at the top end, some of it due to player inaccuracy , in fact most of it.

Swan Nomads 4 - 1 Tarring Club
Nick Brown 7430 1750 Josh Williams*
A 1k opener from Josh and it took some time for Nick to get the break back, where he scored about 2k I think. Josh only able to add bits and pieces before Nick finished it off with a 5k break.
Tony Burgess 1060 4530 Matt Jones*
2k opener from Matt and added steadily each visit. Tone never really got going.
Paul Barnett 6530 4390 Mike Formoy*
1k opener from Mike followed by a good 6.5k from Barney. Mike break back and going well with possibly just enough time, before breaking down at 3.1k.
Adam Squires 6590 600 Dave Collins*
Dave a nice 1k opener which he lost. Adam responded with a 2k of his own before Dave got the break back. Going very nicely on 3k but managed to lose that as well. Bits and pieces before Adam finished it with with 3k+.
Neil Higgins 3700 510 Alex Heaseman*
With the match lost, stand-in Captain James Osborne opted not to play himself, and to give Alex a game instead. I managed to play a mixture of bad and very bad shots, but scored enough to win.
A match which could have been a lot closer had important scores not been lost. Outstanding sandwiches nom nom.

Always a great night with Brian and co. In the first game Dave played extremely well. Gave me a chance but I failed to capitalise and Dave took full advantage. Second game. Steve played well. Ross had no luck at all. Steve nervous at times but managed to secure the game. Game 3. Paul always in control of his game with Alan after Alan left both balls up. Game 4. Ted took over after Brian came off early. Brian with no luck. Game 5. Dave left both balls ups on the break. Chris couldn't get the break back to start with. Dave settled with 2k. Chris got the break back but broke down. chris had another chance and got to 1k of Daves score. Dave got his break back towards the end and ended with a good 2k break.
