Roffey CC 3, Windmill GG 2. A deserved win in the circumstances. Makes the Spare Week interesting, a 5-0 win over Stout House would achieve runners-up for Roffey CC, or 4-1 if you want to share the honour !

Roffey H 3 Limeburners 2 Malcolm Andre 1380 Mick Johnson 8810 Steve Hopkins 11480 Steve Eely 1750 Stuart Carruthers 20220 Ding Johnson 300 Iain Tarrant 6120 Tony Temple 2590 Rob Jones 2700 Steve Holden 3480 Breaks: Stuart 20220 The second division title will go down to the spare week with Steve Holden battling back well in the last leg with a last minute break to get the Limeburners a second point. None of the visitors opened with much but Mick played well with a good break on his second visit. For us Steve continued his return to form to get new a PB score..... and I got a 20k break Got the balls straight back after Ding missed early and settled into a rhythm. Was ahead of time so slowed down slightly as approached the 20k (mindful that I had made a mistake and missed splits twice when close before). This almost backfired when the bar dropped over a minute early, but thankfully just had enough. Did solve the dilemma of if I should touch up or not! As always the Limeburners were a pleasure to play against and very sporting, and good luck to them in their last match.

Well done Stu on your admission to the Sussex 20k club. This season you've blazed a trail like no-one else before in our League, will be interested to see what your final season's average is. Well done also to Hoppo for his PB.

Windmill CC 3 Stout House 2 according to my sources.......
Wins for Peter and Steve for the CC's and Twiggy and Glyn - both going big - for the visitors. Derek received a walkover, Stout a player short with Gordon on holiday.

With Ian being away, I'll do the honours (he'll do an official report with final tables taking account of the two outstanding matches when played)Division One | P | W | L | F | A | Pts |
---|
Plough | 14 | 11 | 3 | 44 | 26 | 44 | Windmill GG | 14 | 8 | 6 | 37 | 33 | 37 | Roffey CC | 13 | 7 | 6 | 33 | 32 | 33 | Roffey Club Y | 14 | 5 | 9 | 33 | 37 | 33 | | | | | | | | Division Two | P | W | L | F | A | Pts | Roffey Club H | 14 | 8 | 6 | 38 | 32 | 38 | Limeburners | 13 | 6 | 7 | 35 | 30 | 35 | Windmill CC | 13 | 5 | 8 | 26 | 39 | 26 | Stout House | 13 | 4 | 9 | 24 | 41 | 24 |
So how do things stand ? Roffey CC can make runners-up spot when they visit Stout House on Tuesday: 5-0 (or 4.5-0.5) will claim it outright, 4-1 would tie with Windmill GG; Limeburners can lift the Div.2 title when they entertain Windmill CC; but they will need 3.5-1.5 or better to deny Roffey H who would then be runners-up.

The only player to have ever averaged 10k+ in a season in the Horsham League has been Lloydy. He did it six times, his best being 11051 in 2006/07: Year | Player | Season's Ave |
---|
1996/97 | Gareth Lloyd | 10282 | 1999/00 | Gareth Lloyd | 10038 | 2002/03 | Gareth Lloyd | 10582 | 2006/07 | Gareth Lloyd | 11051 | 2012/13 | Gareth Lloyd | 10529 | 2015/16 | Gareth Lloyd | 10654 |
So this season Stu (12360) boots it straight out of the park !

Also, 10k ave has been achieved twice in the Billingshurst league, once by Lloydy (2003/04) and once by Micky Fairs (2008/09). Year | Player | Season's Ave |

2003/04 | Gareth Lloyd | 10859 | 2008/09 | Micky Fairs | 10920 |

Looks like next season will be extra competitive: The H's will be a 1st Div side, the GG's will want to go one better than bridesmaids, and the Plough won't want to relinquish their title without a struggle. And now talk of a new 'superteam'.
