After a controversial start to the evening (bar dropped in first game after 14 minutes 32 seconds with Barry behind but on the break, some members of the home very team unhappy that another coin had to be put in to make it a legal game under the League rules which they were unaware of), the other singles continued to be very close and very scrappy with neither team getting to grips with the table here. The visitors much better in the pairs to take the win, Barry managing a 3k plus break in the last to make sure of the points. This result means that the Swan B must win their last game either 5-1 or 6-0 to be sure of taking the title in an exciting end to the season.

Regards the Dew Drop v Prince of Wales - game 1.
To confirm the ruling (rule 9) : If the table runs for less than 15 minutes, the bar will be pulled again and play will continue until 18 minutes, at which point any balls going into holes will be retained as if the bar had dropped. If this was the situation and the game continued in this manner then the result stands. If there any further queries then please let me know. Thanks Bill.
Other results : White Hart B 3 - 3 Henty, White Hart C 2 - 4 Sea View.
Thanks for all updates.

Hi Bill, thanks for confirming the league rules on this situation. Just to confirm, another coin was inserted and the first game continued after agreement between both of the captains. David

Could someone do me a favour and let me know which set of rules Rule 9 is in. (Probably in littlehampton rules?)
I am actually putting in a new Sussex rule at the AGM this year regarding timing of tables as the general rules and playing conditions of the AEBBA rules I sent to league secretaries at the beginning of the season (which Sussex leagues now use) doesn’t seem to have a rule re the time a table should run.
Just want to make sure I’m not missing this rule before I propose it at the AGM
Thanks

Just want to make sure I’m not missing this rule before I propose it at the AGM Thanks Jean, as the guys have said it is Littlehampton rule 9 and is reproduced below:- 9. Table time will be a minimum 15 minutes and a maximum 20 minutes. If the table runs for less than 15 minutes the bar will be pulled again and play will continue until 18 minutes at which point any balls going into holes will be retained as if the bar had dropped. If the bar has not dropped by 20 minutes any balls returning to the trap will be retained by the scorer as if the bar has dropped

If it helps, Horsham follow AEBBA Rule 37 which looks identical to the LBBL one, apart from Littlehampton's mention of 18 mins: I recall that we did once have a bespoke rule stating 16/21 mins but deleted this when asked to fall in line with SCBBA/AEBBA. As for LBBL's 18 mins, I would consider this to be a sensible improvement.
