Well done to Mark Trafford on winning the Berks Open. He beat Simon Coleman in the final, well done to Simon on finishing runner-up. There were a few chances in the final with Mark making the most of his to continue his great form after winning the last open too!
Fair to say Traff was fortunate to get through his quarter-final match with Matt Jones on the trickier table 7. Jonesy had touched on enough in leg 2 but somehow a ball flew back down the table to knock the black peg over and give Mark the win. After that Traff beat Martin Cole (who had beaten KT with a brilliant 22k run out) in one semi and Simon had beaten the in form Martin Smith in the other semi.
The Plate was won by Joe Oakley, following his runner-up in the main last time. Good form for him too, Joe beat Kyle Ingram in the final. Well done to both players. Joe had a thrilling last ball win v Mark James in his semi and Kyle beat Phil Mac in the other semi.
Thanks to all the guys from Berks for their hard work in running the day and the venue for looking after us.

to have won the Berks open on Sunday, making it back to back opens for the first time for me. It is certainly fair to say that I did have a massive amount of good fortune (or bad fortune for my opponent) in the quarter finals. The tables were tricky but most certainly playable if you worked at them as there were big breaks had on them all. Many thanks to all the organisers for all their hard work, see you at the next open 🙂
