This is the 3rd competition week of the season and the only venue which has 2 teams in the league has yet to be used on any of these weeks.....puzzled.... I was only talking to Pete last week about not being able to use the Oracle for comps so far. I always try to leave a 2 week gap between players playing on a table and playing comps on the same table so, if they've played on a table up to 2 weeks prior to the comps week or are playing up to 2 weeks after then they can't play on that table. As yet I have not been able to use the Oracle because of this. Maybe we should go back to drawing the comps and the tables at the same time or just ignore the fact that someone might have played the table the week before or is playing it the week after. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the explanation Alan and that is what I thought was going on. Using that logic though, it will probably mean very few (if any) comps will be put on the Oracle table as there are so few tables around now. I am sure you would agree this is hardly fair? As per above, as there are so few tables now and the fact people play on them in other leagues too, you cant really be totally neutral in picking tables anyway. I would have no issue disregarding the 2 week rule. Have a list of all the venues and just pick them out of a hat each time and keep doing that until all tables used, then start again. Only fair way of getting all tables used fair amount of times.

I did draw the tables from a hat once but I guess some people were not happy. I'll email the committee with the suggestion of drawing the tables at the same time as making the competition draws. In the meantime there will be some "Play By" games soon and I'll make sure I use the Oracle for some of them.

Sounds a sensible approach - just one small point. Are you saying you draw the venues first and then best fit people to those venues, so the tables remain neutral, or are you saying the venues are drawn and you play where the hat puts you, if so you could end up on your table.

Have a day off will you Keith. Of course you won't be playing on your home table!

Please note that I have moved the Pat Webber game between Sid and Keith to the Donnington Club as Sid is playing at the Gladiators Club on the 13th December.

Ian and Alan beat John-Joe and Vinny 3 -0 3570 - 1830 8250 - 320 2390 - BP
John-Joe and Vinny were very unlucky in the 3rd game. They had the game won when Vinny played for a ball at the top of the table, missed and somehow knocked the Black Peg over on the way back.

Allan Lacey and Mike Jones beat John Boal and Dave Naylor 3-1. John & Dave were unlucky as John lost a 4k+ break in the last game which, if he had kept, would have won it for them on aggregate. John also had a break of 9,860 in the 3rd game.
