Well done to Worthing on winning the Division 1 One Day Inter-League today. Brighton were runners-up and, sadly West Sussex were relegated by the narrowest of margins. Tunbridge Wells were third and Redhill were fourth. Thanks to the club for looking after us and the ladies for the excellent food. Jean kept everything in order and thanks to Stuart and Alan for the amazing amount of work they do in setting up the tables for the four events over the two weekends. Thanks to those that stayed behind to help Stuart and Alan take the tables down especially Martin Cole, Martin Russell and Richard Arnold who helped with the heavy lifting. Stu Carruthers will have all the stats updated and for everyone to view very shortly. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day

It was a fascinating event to watch, although I had to miss the end to catch the bus back to Crawley ! As I left, Worthing had already won - well done to them - and drama was about to be played out between the other 4 teams inasmuch all had a chance of being runners-up, and all were in danger of relegation. Saw some big breaks inexplicably lost during the course of the day but great nonetheless to witness bar billiards of the highest quality.

Believe Jean headed straight off to a rearranged Inter League match tonight so won't get the results spreadsheet from her this evening, so full results and stats won't be available on the Sussex website until tomorrow evening. Will put up a link when this is done. Would just like to thank Jean for the excellent and hard work she has done in running all four days, and to everyone who helped with the tables over the two weekends.

Full results now online scbba.co.uk/inter-league/one-day-inter-league/one-day-2019/one-day-division-one-2019/Worthing finished on 54 points to win by 11 from Brighton, with Tunbridge Wells back in third. It was a good comeback from Worthing having lost the first game 13-8 to Brighton, but big wins against West Sussex and Redhill in the next two rounds of matches saw them take a commanding lead. Kevin Tunstall (Worthing) and Curt Driver (Tunbridge Wells) topped the individual stats winning a maximum 12 points each, by winning all 4 matches without dropping a leg, and averaging over 10k. Paul Sainsbury (Tunbridge Wells) won all 4 matches and had the top score on the day with 20310 and Nigel Senior (Brighton) also won all 4 and also averaged over 10k.

Spare a thought for poor Joe Oakley who almost spoiled Curt's perfect record but downed a break of 13.5k. Nice work on the Stats, by the way.......
