All forms and monies to Kevin by 1st August 2019.
At the moment looks like 9 teams (Teams and venues as last year await confirmation of where teams playing thus year, captains shown as of last season) :-
Albion A, Bob Hall Albion C, Nigel Senior Alexandra, Tony Jenner Charles Dickens, Dave Jones Henty, Kevin Tunstall Pocket Rocket, Alan Mepham Swan A, Brian Richards (believe playing as second team at the Alexandra) Swan Nomads, Neil Higgins (believe playing at the Charles Dickens as a second team) Tarring Club, Tony Collins.
Looks as we are definitely losing the Marine View and the likelihood of a new team now seems unlikely.
Discussed at committee meeting on Monday and the format if 9 will be all play all once home and away, split into two leagues as follows:-
Premier :- Albion A Albion C Alexandra Henty Swan Nomads
1st Division:- Charles Dickens Pocket Rocket Swan A Tarring Club
That will mean 16 games and then Thursdays being set aside for set competitions during the season and as that is a league night hopefully we will get an increase of entries.
All above will be confirmed at committee meeting at Tarring Club on Monday 2nd September and sure as usual Kevin will have fixtures out to the captains ASAP after that.
League start date will be either Thursday 12th or 19th September just to give a heads up.

With 9 teams and split as above the draught fixture list is being checked and the intention is now for all to play all 1 home and away ( 16 games) and premier and first to play each other 1 home and away, meaning premier will have 22 games and 1st division 20 games, season then for the premier sides start on 12th sept and 1st division to join in from the 26th September. There will still be 4 set nights for competitions (with a possible 5th on Thursday 5th November which is set aside for Jersey). There will be two quiz nights and the usual Chairmans Cup competition.

I make that 24 matches for Premier teams, not 22, and 22 for Div 1, not 20.

Hi Chris
9 teams so you play 8 teams home and away = 16 games
5 premier teams so play 4 teams home and away = 8 games
Total 24 games

Just to clarify how with the provisional league format with premier playing 24 games and 1st Division 22 games this is how the season would pan out.
Premier teams will be Alexandra A, CD Nomads, Henty, Stags Head A and B. The premier season would start 12th September 2019 and end 28th May 2020, this allows one week out for Jersey, 2 quiz nights, 4 nights set aside for competitions and 3 nights for Chairmans Cup.
1st division teams will be Alexandra B, Charles Dickens A, Pocket Rocket and Tarring Club, the season for them will start 26th September 2019 and end 14th May 2020, again the same nights as above being set aside.
Finals Night will be 4th June 2020, Presentation Night 18th June 2020 and the AGM 30th July 2020.

Fixtures now approved and format as above, fixture lists being passed to team captains, some of you will already have them, have a good season one and all. Competition entry forms and rules will be with you soon.
A reminder of the rules for league games :- L 4. When a league match concerns two teams from the same division ie, Premier v Premier, Division 1 v Division 1 or Division 2 v Division 2, captains shall select a player in attendance from their team, prior to each game, with the Home captain nominating first in games 1 & 4, the Away captain in games 2, 3 & 5.
L 5. When a Division 1 team plays a Premier side, the Division 1 team will get breaks in games 2, 3 & 5, the Premier side in games 1 & 4. Home and Away. The Premier captain nominating first in all games. When Division 2 teams play a team from a higher Division, they will receive all 5 breaks (not including cup matches), Home and Away, with the higher division captain nominating first in all matches.
The preliminary round of the Chairmans was drawn last night and just one game:-
Alexandra A v Tarring at the Charles Dickens, with no set night this is to be arranged by the captains, who are both aware. Plenty of time to do this as 1st round proper not until 23/01/2020.

So, having played what were the Swan A twice last season, where we had 3 breaks to their 2, and losing 4-1 each time, this season we have to give them all 5 breaks Home and Away. Really?

I have amended my post and quoted the league rules (in red) so as I see it premiers will only give 3 breaks home and away to 1st division sides. Have contacted the league secretary for clarification.

Don't panic Neil, TJ is correct. I was still in last season mode. I will print some more fixtures off with the correct wording
