If anyone is coming up today we'll be in the white horse later this afternoon, any assistance gratefully appreciated, even if it's just buying the beers

Thank you to all the organisers for a very enjoyable day. It was an ambitious format which gave all players plenty of games. Despite a hiccup with the running order which caused a delay we got there in the end and we hope to be back again next time. Well done to Hastings for winning it!

Well done Nags Head Hastings on winning this event for the 1st time, that's Colin Southouse Bob Osborne Dave White Peter Payne Twas a very long day for us, started at 5.50 am got home at 00.45 am but well worth it, the tables we played on were a lot better than previous years, there were 6, together with over 50 players and spectators, so things were a bit cramped but all dealt with it this really well. Thanks to Gary the landlord for putting up with us all and supplying a great "full English" early on and to Jeremy, Dave and especially Steve (and Steves wife) for running the event, which was reformatted mid way through the day, so very stressful for the organisers. Met some new 4 pin friends, looks like i'm going to Jamaica next year

Well done team, glad you did not miss me!
Sorry to let you down but for once in my life I had to listen to medical advice.

PPS Last year's winners Worthing won the Plate (which looks more like an urn.) Perhaps Taffy would care to burn his cue and donate the proceeds, then next year we could play for the Ashes ! Thoroughly enjoyable day for the Blue Jays (Joe, Jim, John and Joe Bloggs) in our first outing for this event. Most of us broke even in our 8 frames played, and we finished a fitting 6th 5th out of 12. Well done to Steve Hale and his admin in pulling the fat out of the fire: after a little adventure when satnav sent us up a one-way street the wrong way, we managed to get home before midnight. Great to meet up with friends both old and new. Bring on next year !

We would like to thank everyone, almost, for their understanding. We believe we have worked out what went wrong with the pairs on the final round and we apologise for the confusion. We hope it didn’t dampen your enjoyment too much and look forward to running the complete format in 2020.
We will be posting entry details for the Specflue open soon.
Thanks once again for all those who competed, in the spirit of the event.

As usual a generally friendly day of playing a fun game with lots of banter . Will someone be putting the results on here , as many teams , as would ours , would like to know the full results . I.E Overall Winners etc etc....................Plate Winners etc etc ...............Highest Individual Game Score Winner ? Thank you to all concerned with admin prior /after and on the day , a thankless task and sometimes with little appreciation of the difficultys encountered making it a truly long day for many !! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL

Echo a great day and thanks to those who organised on the day and those who delivered and set up the tables. Always good to meet some new people and mostly played in good spirit.
Thank you to Gary and his team for letting us use the White Horse, and supplying a special menu for the bar billiards.

We all know there were a few hiccups, but Lucy and Steve worked it all out, so a big thanks to them both. I know almost everyone appreciated their efforts.
While we were a little compact at times, I think once again the white horse proved it is an ideal venue for the event, personally I think if we moved the 4x4 into a hall it would lose it's charm, I would be pleased to hear what others think.
It was certainly hard work Sunday morning moving the tables out and without Gary's help we would of struggled and Lucy really deserves a special mention, after being at the sharp end and receiving some very uncalled for abuse she was still there Sunday morning helping us carry out the tables.
It does seem almost everyone enjoyed themselves and the schedule/formatt has already been looked at for next year and we are confident the finish time can be brought forward. The plan this year was to use tables 5 and 6 for the first couple of rounds and then pack them away to make more space in the pub, next year we plan to utilise them for the later stages to and this will significantly cut down the time.
I am also aware that at least five people paid their entry fees during the day for next years EA/world 4 pin open, hopefully we will have the entry forms available on line very soon.
Thank you to everyone who took part and played in the true spirit of bar billiards.
Dave

Name them !
I think I recognise the mighty tommo in one of the photos, with Mr Slee offering (im)moral support !
Middle shot of the first lot: Dave White, with Bob Osborne scoring ?
Far right of 'a few more added': is that Southouse ? (recognise the ebony cue)

Highest individual score winner was Jeff Bridges 2760. I think ?

Picked this up from FaceAche (hope there's no copyright). Photo courtesy of Steve Hale: Jeff Bridges receiving his trophy for highest individual score at the National 4x4 tournament from Suffolk BBA Chairman Jeremy Fry. Jeff scored 2760 in his 2nd round singles match.
