Brighton Summer League update before tonights final group games. I have got all of Toni's results - she was texting my old number, guess I should have told her I got a new phone!
Group A
1 Windmill C P7 W5 L2 F23 A12 Pts10 2 Duke of Wellington P7 W4 L3 F19.5 A15.5 Pts8 3 Brewery Tap B P8 W4 L4 F19.5 A20.5 Pts8 4 Romans A P7 W4 L3 F17 A18 Pts8 5 Stadium P7 W1 L6 F11 A24 Pts2
So the winner of tonights match between the Romans and the Duke join the Windmill in the semi finals
Group B
1 Windmill B P5 W4 L1 F15 A10 Pts8 2 Montreal P6 W3 L3 F16 A14 Pts6 3 Romans B P5 W3 L2 F10 A15 Pts6 4 Albion P6 W1 L5 F14 A16 Pts2
The Romans must win against the Windmill tonight to join them in the semis or the Montreal will progress

Nigel, if the semis are next week, we have a problem. Three of us are abroad on holiday. Can you contact the Duke of Wellie or give us a number to speak to them please.

KT,
It's me you need to talk to from the Wellie. From what I can remember the Semi Finals are next week and the Final the week after. The problem is how are we going to fit our Semi Final in and the winner still play the Final. I will have to know soon-ish so I can arrange things with the rest of my team (time off work Etc.)
I'll mail you my phone number

Nige,
Due to the Windmill team having players away on Wednesday, we have changed the date of our game to Mon 11 Sept at the Albion. I hope this is OK with you.
Any probs give me a bell or Email,
Cheers

Hello Nigel any chance of re-arranging the semi between the windmill and the montreal to somewhere a little closer than shoreham? You know the Montreal like a beer and taxi fare is going to be a fair whack, cant we play at the stadium, dyke, kendal etc? Cheers

Racehorse, the Stadium is the only other possibility of those as they are a summer league venue and the others are not.
I will have to get the Windmill to agree to this, so I will speak to their captain and I will inform you of what I have decided.

Nige,
Can you post the result of moving the other Semi Final on this site please? It's just so I can tell Roy the Gov not to arrange food etc.
Cheers
Racehorse (or should that now be Montreal),
The easiest and cheapest way to the Wellie is either by train or a number 2/2A bus. The 2 drops off in Surry Street and the 2A the Civic Offices (the stop before), then its a walk around the corner. Coming back, the bus stop is about 10 feet from the Wellies door (last bus about 2315). The last train to Brighton is about 0010 from Shoreham. I Hope this has helped for winter league.
