Windmill C 4 Albion A 1
A very entertaining evening with four of the games going against the break, which was rather strange as the table was good.
Food being baked potatoes with either cheese or mince, a welcome fare on a horrible evening outside.
Game one. Jo on the break against Bigtj. Jo overhit the break and let me staight in. I broke down at just over 5k,and when Jo got the break back thought it was definitly not enough, but Jo never got to grips with the table, and I eventually ran out winner 11,030 - 1570. 1 - 0 Windmill.
Game two. Rick Cunningham started of well until taking out the right hand peg. Caroline got the break back and amassed around 2, 500. After that she totally outplayed Rick and would have ended up with a much better score if she hadn`t pegged over 5k. 330 - 2950. 1 - 1.
Game three. Bella Stoner started ok, but like Jo didn`t looklat home on the table. Gina Sherratt played a solid game and ran out a comfortable winner 6300 - 2640. 2 - 1 Windmill. first three against ther break.
Game four. Captains game for the home team with Bill Kerr taking the break against Alan Brackenbridge who had only just arrived, so having little time to take a breather.
Bill opened with close on 3k, for those watching knew this was not enough aginst Alan, but he couldn`t get the break back. Bill did and on the second visit made sure of the win. He had a third time on the break and ran out winner 13,460 - 250. Windmill 3 - 1.
Game five. Doug Dawsons` braek against Dave Anscombe saw arather scappy game where Dave did enough to win 3320 - 1570. 4 - 1 to the Windmill with a forthn game against the break.
Thanks to the Albion for a sporting an entertaining evening, and good luck to all taking part in the weekends games at the Downview.
