I am sorry I had to leave early last night but Corner House were 3-2 down when I left the Portcullis last night.
Terry "Ticker" Alder was very kind in giving me more than one chance in both my games. Mick Shephard won both against Ian Moss and Bob Allsworth had lost his first leg against Pete Barnes.

Not had time to try to find out, but I fear that we may have lost 4-2.
It probably would not have made any difference in any of the games, but what the hell can be made out of this pathetic handicap system which forced us to give 1,000 points per leg start to this team of top Wallingford players, Mike Shephard, Pete Barnes and Terry Alder, on THEIR own table (FCOL).
Apparently proposed at the AGM by someone called Charlie Wheeler, but obviously backed by enough people at the AGM. Don't mind giving a start to lesser-standard players but when a team is well-capable of making 10k breaks, what possesses people to think it is a good idea.

I have taken out part of this post, as I think it will offend those people that you are getting at, especially with the word that you used.
