Hey guys
All the very best of the festive greetings to you one and all.
Result for the re arranged match between Brewers Droops and the Horns Lodge was a comprehensive 5-0 whitewash in favour of the Brewers.
R. Jeffrey 5280 S. Smith 1060
P. Hall 3650 B. Procter 2080
K. Hall 6760 G. Winson 60 (yes just 60)
AF Wright 2960 Dave Guildford 1640
A. Bateup 11,600 J. Smith 70 (yes just 70)
Starting our second half assult on the league title with a great match albeit re arranged from the first half. Having already whitewashed the Lodge in the Off the Spot cup a second consecutive one never really looked on the cards until.......
........me up first with a comfortable win against 'newbie' steve. He missed his break, I got it back but pegged about 1500, steve potted a few itsy bitsy balls I pegged a further 900+ before getting a grip and knocking in a swift 4k to win. 1-0
Papa Hall played a good resiliant match against big Ben who has to be said probably lost more than he actually scored. Papa Hall slipping in the decisive break at the mid way point and managing to stay in front of a struggling Ben with a nasty case of pegiitus 2-0
Down to Captain Geoff to kick start the Horns comeback, but unfortunatly drawn against the reaper man. In all honesty a little bisty at the start with Kev pegging 1500+ at least twice, poor old Geoff skimmed the black peg twice then finally knocked it over and to add insult to injury, reaper got the break back on the following shot and promptly killed of the game with a 5k+ break. 3-0
And onto the big farmer against the 'old' head in the team! Andy struggled to find any form in the early stages of the match, meanwhile Dave kept just edging away from him, and for the want of a couple of untimly missed balls would have won the match, again losing more than he scored. The big man's a tough cookie tho and got the break back and played it out to take the win with a 2k break. 4-0
And onto the last and young Adam up to the plate with these parting words of wisdom from yours truely '4-1 is good, but 5-0 is better.' With Jan missing her opening break shot, Adam stepped in and quite mercilessly smashed any hope of Jan stealing a point with a superb 10,270 break. 5-0
A great night, with the lodge seeming a little out of sorts, mostly due to playing on a Friday I think. Great spread of ploughmans again from the wonderfull Wendy.
Bad luck the lodge who went home with more of the hump than the horn. Very well played my guys, with extra mention for xptg with his first ever competitive 10k break, thats how to cement a 5-0. Superb to watch mate very very well done. Don't cure that cold lol!!!!
