The 8 bells were turned over tonight by a better then usually brewers side if although a little lucky. Andy had a great escape with tony off strong but losing his score and Andy capitalized from then on.5k-1k colleen should have won this with me not scoring much and unable to get the break back till the end. 7k-2k the big one and Dave was off to a wobbly start and missed quite early on and Kev gave him no chances putting 8k in and another 4 k at the end .12k-2k jock went off well with 5k but will two strong breaks from Gina put it dead level but unfortunately Gina potted both balls needing to leave one up and jock stole it.5k-5k this one was anybody though the game both players had a few awkward balls but bill came out on top.4k-6k good night had by all and puts us in with a chance for the league with the 8 bells having a bye to come. sad news as Colleen was taking ill tonight get well soon.

As reported above, a bad night for the leaders all round....... ending with Colleen collapsing towards the end of the last game and being rushed off to hospital in an ambulance after being unconscious for about 20 minutes. :(
After several hours of tests and being hooked up to various heart monitors etc, a combination of a chest infection that triggered a severe asthma attack seems to have been the cause and we got home at about 5am. :o
I'm glad to say that she seems okay this morning..... apart from a major headache (the ladies toilet floor is very hard where she bashed her head), a sore back and leg (which she managed to wrench when falling) and a tight chest from the asthma. :'(
Many thanks for all of the good wishes, both last night and here on the Forum, which she greatly appreciates. ;D :-*
Anyway, back to the match and a result which keeps the title race alive.......
Andy Farmer-Wright 4,980 - 790 Tony Jenner Tony went off in fine style and looked comfortable until leaving a ball towards the middle of the table near the 100 hole, which he slightly overhit and took out the white peg. Andy knocked in a steady 2.7k, Tony got the balls back straight away but broke down early giving Andy enough time to make sure of the win and a rather flattering scoreline. 1-0 :(
Adam Bateup 6,950 - 2,460 Colleen Park Adam left the one up short on 1.4k, Colleen replied with 1.4k and was first to get the balls back again but broke down on 800. Adam hit a 2k break which he saved well after leaving a ball right behind the 10 hole. Colleen couldn't get the break back, Adam could and he ran in a couple of quick breaks towards the end to make sure. 2-0 >:(
Kevin Hall 12,710 - 2,350 Dave Ingram When I played Kevin at the Sportsman earlier this year, he was caught out by the slight inward roll by the left hand 50 hole, missed his first split shot and I punished him. 8-) Revenge is sweet.... as the same thing happened to me last night. :-[ Kev hit a very well built 7.5k and looked like he was going to take the game way out of reach, until he also thinned a 50/10 split and left both balls up. :o I got the balls back straight away and knew that I should have enough time to catch him if I played the table out, but a bad shot on a 50/30 got me out of position and I was off shortly after giving Kev some more table time to run in a good score for a well deserved win. 3-0 :-[ Well played Kev. 8-)
Richard Jeffrey 5,220 - 5,060 Gina Sherratt Jock opened with just over 5k, Gina replied with just over 2k and, with Jock suddenly losing the ability to pot a ball, Gina was first back on the break. With the bar imminent and the Jock about 300 in the lead, Gina left both balls up at the back end of the table after missing the 10 hole on the split shot. Both players failed to pot anything on their next visit, Jock missed again allowing Gina to clear the balls and needing to keep 1 ball up to have a chance of the win...... only to see them both go down. 4-0 :'(
Pete Hall 4,220 - 6,000 Bill Kerr Bill off at just over 1k, Pete replied with a similar score but the Bill built up a lead of about 3.5k on his next couple of visits. Pete got the break back and was on track to catch him up only to break down about 1k short........ at this stage Sandra found Colleen collapsed so I didn't see the end of the game, but from the scores I assume that Bill didn't give Pete another chance. 4-1 ;)
Some great games played in a match that could have ended up with almost any result, but the 4-1 scoreline on the night was probably fair to the Droops who deserved their victory and were terrific company and hosts, as always. 8-)
All in all, and eventful evening....... ::)
Many thanks to Mike (the landlord at the Brewers) for his swift action in calling the ambulance for Colleen, everyone for their good wishes and Sandra of course for finding her....... much appreciated. ;)

That sounds really scary. A severe asthma attack is bad enough by itself, the lungs fill up and you can't breathe. But to be knocked out cold for 20 minutes.......good job that Sandra found her when she did. :o :o

my head hurts....... my chest hurts (not so much the asthma -apparently paramedic did it to try waking me up)...... my back hurts......I've got sticky stuff everywhere from those skintact things they stick on for the wires.....but I'm fine. sort of......
I'm not allowed out, I'm not allowed to do anything except relax and take it easy, and to top it all of - NO SMILEYS from Jockster !!!
yes, it was scary (afterwards for me as I don't remember any of it except waking up in the ambulance surrounded by people in green and panicking and calling for Dave), and I truly apologise to all for spoiling the evening. Thank you Sandra, hope you got to use the loo okay !
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes.

You would never spoil our evening but you did give us a bloody scare. A great evening played in a sporting manner with terrific banter between the teams. The landlord was terrific in his response, the ambulance prompt and thank god Colleen is okay. Just take it easy and I promise not to lead you astray by lining up the white wine from now on. Get better soon and let the Warrior pamper you. Tony
