Don't be defeatist petem
On a one off match on a neutral table anyone can win especially as it is played as drawn. You only have to have the draw go with you.

Not being a defeatist Dave, just a bit of reverse psycology. On our day we can beat just about anyone. I know the neutral table is a great leveller and they have not played it in the league yet We also have to play them in our re-arranged match just before Christmas on their top,so lets see what happens in that one,but you must agree they are going great guns at the moment Anyone who can beat KT's team 5-0 must be playing well !

Anyone who can beat KT's team 5-0 must be playing well ! True, but the first three games could've gone either way

Romans 2 Windmill C 3 at the Stadium (bar).
Game one. B.Kerr opened up with a 10,610 break before deciding to touch up. Brian did not get going and Bill added another 3,000+ 13,860-600 1-0 Windmill.
Game two. Saw Mick Moore against Arthur Brewster. Mick opened up with just over 2,000 and Arthur never got to grips with the table,Mick running out 3,180 - 1230 winner. 1-1.
Game three. Rick Cunninghams break against Dave Roberts, Rick opened up with around 2,000. Dave did get the break back but left both balls up on the one up. Rick stayed in control from then and ran out winner 5,120 - 2,040. 2-1 to the Windmill.
Game three. Staurt Beetles opened up with just under 2,000, Steve got the break back but only replied with1,500. A battle at the top of the table saw Stuart increase his lead and looked to be the winner, but Steve got the break back at the last minute and ran the table out to record a win by 3390-2870. 3-1 to the Windmill.
Game Five. Even breaks with myself to go first against Terry Stapleton. I opened with only 450 after hitting the split to thin and missing both balls. Terry amassed 2,500 on his break, it was then a struggle at the top of the table until I retrieved the break. Got to 2,300 and decided to hit the peg. Advantage Terry who got another 2,000 from the break. I got the break back all to late and Terry was a deserving winner 4,620-3,200. 3-2 to Windmill.
An excellent evening with plenty of banter and competitive games. Well played Bill who was th only one to look at ease with the table. Good luck in theplate to the Romans.
