The Betteshanger Club started the Spring Cup competition with a 6-0 win over the Magnet B side. Playing the restricted 3k maximum break rule in the singles matches, they sped to a 3-0 lead over their opponents with wins for John Addley (8,860), Wack Sampson (4,400) and then Neville Potts (4,100). With all the doubles matches played to the triangle break rule, these games were closer scores, and the ladies from the Magnet played well despite still losing each of the remaining games. This win puts the Betteshanger side at the top of their Group after just one match, but proves that the rule changes for this competition bridge the gap between players of all levels.
* Not bullies at all - all the ladies had a great night too !! *
