Windmill loose unbeaten record to the Gardeners B 2-3. Excellent night played in great spirits with a wonderful spread of food including wedge potatoes, chillie mince, garlic bread and chicken.
Windmill not only loose, but Terry Molloy looses 100% record.
Game One; saw Steve Aylmore on the brake against Nick Brown, Steve off cheaply, Nick unable to retrieve break, Steve accumultes 3k lead, Nick pegs 2.5k, Steve puts another 1k, Nick gets break back and goes well, but not enough time. 3790-5080. 0-1.
Game Two. Barney Bear fresh from Spurs cup exploits with the break against Rick Cunningham ( Arsenal supporter ). Barney off with less than 2k, Rick takes lead with 2k. Barney builds 3k lead, Rick break back plenty off time. Chases well till forcing shot 1k short with 1.5 minutes left. Barney makes sure. 6520-4200 1-1.
Game Three; Terry Molloy break against Tony Burgess. Terry off at 600, Tony off with 1k. Both players played about before Tonty got break back and made steady break to leave Terry no time.
3900-2930. 2-1
Game Four; saw depenable Neil Higgins against reliable Bill Kerr. Neil opened with steady 6k+. Bill neede to retrieve straight away, but not to be, from then on Neil always in control. 8150-1040. 3-1, and very well played the Gardeners.
Game Five; Tony Jenner with break against Gary Ridley, with task of saving face for the Windmill. Seemed unlikely when left one up short on forth shot. Luckily Gary did not retrieve the break, but TJ did and put in a vary steady 6k plus, not leaving Gary much time. 2650-8550 3-2.
All good things come to an end, but well played my team for maintaining unbeaten run to third game of second halve, and all things being equal we have won the first division and still have a great chance of influencing the premier and be sure we will put every effort in to end top of the pile, but whatever happens can only be proud of my side for such an incredible run.
