The Betteshanger Club, Deal maintained top spot in Group A with an decisive 4-2 away win against the Plough & Harrow, Bridge A.
Wack Sampson (3,740) started well for the visitors, followed by wins for Neville Potts (5,310) and then John Addley (7,840) as they won all three singles games to race to a 3-0 lead.
The first doubles games was won by Potts & Sampson (2,780) to secure the overall match win for the visitors, before Ian Dennett took over in the last two games with some impressive play in the triangle formatted games. He first hit an unbeaten 1,400 break with partner Baz Symes to snatch a win by 100 points, and then with Keith Symes he hit another timely break of 1,000 plus to win the last leg and give the home side hope of finishing runners-up in the Group.
