Gardeners A (?) 1 - 4 Stadium A
Game 1. Ian Lelliott opened with 5k, which proved comfortably enough to beat Sandra Race. 0-1
Game 2. Jean Brackenridge had the break 3 times, finishing with approx 8k score v Tony Lewis. 1-1
Game 3. A rejuvenated Geoff Jukes was able to dispatch Sheena Wood. 1-2
Game 4. Lorraine Hall v Grant Tully. Lorraine was off cheaply, and Grant settled in quickly to clinch the match. 1-3
Game 5. Martin Smith was off early, and Alan Brackenridge amassed a 4k lead, but Martin retrieved the balls in time to ease past him. 1-4
News from elsewhere, as a couple of Horsehoes called in, 3 Horseshoes took a 2-0 lead at the Wellie, but lost 3-2....

News from elsewhere, as a couple of Horsehoes called in, 3 Horseshoes took a 2-0 lead at the Wellie, but lost 3-2.... Well I can give you a few more details Mark, although Kt has the scores. To quote the A-team's Col. John "Hannibal" Smith "I love it when a plan comes together". Game 1 - KT on first and the Wellie put down Pete Brown. Pete gave it his best shot and was up 10 minutes in but crucially lost a 1,500 break missing a ball up the middle. KT finally got the balls back and it proved to be enough. 1-0 Game 2 - Mal faced John Perrin. Mal only went off with 2k, but John never could apply pressure as he never got the break back, Mal eventually scored 7k. 2-0 Game 3 - Reevesey with the break practically killed the game in one visit against Stu Mepham. And it was over when Stu failed to get the balls back with his first chance and Chris did. 2-1 Game 4 - Kev Hall's break against Nigel, Kev only opened with about 1,200. both players tried to get the balls back and it as not until 7 minutes in when Nigel did. Nigel made 7k to set up the decider and of course..... Game 5 - ......Tupper-time. Yes Tupper-time again. Tupps looked like he wasn't going to miss.......and then he missed a straight 50 pot on 4,400. Paul Reece got the balls back and got to within about 1,200 before coming off with about 4 minutes to go. Tupps then couldn't decide whether to pot balls or put more balls on the table, he did a bit of both in the end and hung on for the win. 2-3 Just a well done from me to my team, especially Pete and John, who got the rough end of the stick tonight but both gave it their best shot and helped us on the way to the win.

Dolphin 1 - 4 Gardeners B
A match with some good scores and close games.
Gary Iles 3510 Nick Brown 5910 Bob Thomas 4650 Tony Burgess 2090 Steve Hurley 980 Paul Barnett 6210 Dave Anscombe 6070 Gary Ridley 6130 Roy Marsh 860 Neil Higgins 10940
Best game of the night was between myself and Gary with Gary getting the break back with about 2 Min's left to pip me at the post with last ball into the 100 pocket.
Good food and plenty of banter.

Excellent night at the Swan, good selection of sandwiches at the end. Swan players had their deaf aids turned on so able to join in plenty of freindly banter, zimmer frames were at the ready, but got through the evening with minimum use.
As for the match Windmill C kept their 100% record with a 3-2 win, most games could have gone either way.
Terry Molloy * 8530 Vern Blake 1750 Tery opened with 6230 and effectively the game was over 0-1. Arthur Brewster 1170 Ron Brewer* 5270 Ron off at 450, but Arthur couldn`t retrieve the break, Ron got it back and got about 4k, as much as Arthur tried he couldn`t get on the break so game over 1-1 Bill Kerr * 5500 Dave France 3760 Bill off with 300, Dave straight onto the break, TJ thinks its all over, but no Dave broke down at 3k, battle at top of table till Bill got break back, made sure 1-2. Tony Jenner 3450 C.Scott* 3130 Fair old ding dong with both players loosing more than they scored, I luckily got break back at the right time to build a big enough lead as bar went. 1-3 Steve Aylmore* 1610 Tery Denyer 8010 Steve off at about 1k, Terry retrieved the break and amassed a useful 7k so game over 2-3.
Thanks to the Swan A for their usual hospitality, and as is normal a ratre old scrap for victory.

Yes Tony,it got to a point last year where we thought Dave France was going to have to sell his Freelander and buy an ambulance with oxygen supplies and a nurse to ferry us all around Anyone know how the Swan B got on?

Thanks guys. Well what can I say except that both nights were great fun as usual; especally inter league night as I got to meet people whose names I can put a face to now.
Thankfully the shakes have gone away now.
