Hello everyone Thursday the 29th is rapidly approaching and we have decided to run a quiz night on the fixture free date. The venue will be West Tarring club, in the bar, start time about 8.00pm. This is a fund raising event for the Worthing league, open to both members & non members so please come along and support it. Bring your friends and family (as long as they`re not Eggheads) ;)
It would be great if most pubs/clubs in the league were represented. There will be a small entry fee per team or player, still to be decided.
Please let me or any other committee member know a.s.a.p. if you are entering a team. We do need to know numbers for the club.
Thankyou

Well thanks for the invite but the only way it might happen is if we were to arrange one out of our Kipling squad.
I'll tap up Sir Jock, but he may have a pool match that night.

I am normally down on the coast on Thursdays, I had been intending to try to muscle in on a Dolphin team, but would be happy to join a mixed Mid Sussex squad if needed. :)

Dave can understand you need to find someone with brains and certainly Ros would add some glamour to your side.

Nice one Tony! But I fail to see the brains in your team. ;D ;D As for the glamour, are you, Bill, Ric and Arthur going to put mini skirts and make up on? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Tried the mini skirt once with the full works of suspenders etc, found myself getting arrseted at the bottom of West Street for soliciting. Bound over with proviso I was not to go around scaring the public again. As for brains not to sure where we can find them as went in for check-up and was sent home told would be too long an appointment looking for a brain. Believe me Ric wears the make-up around the house anyway.

Margo's up for it so hopefully we can support this event.
If we don't happen to make it, it will probably be down to tommo's tendency to get hopelessly lost in Durrington. :-[

Is there any chance you could pick up Trevor on the way down please Tommo?
He would probably manage to navigate you to the venue ;D
Then the pair of us could either join you and Margo in a Mid Sussex team, or if not needed we could join with Dave's team.
I can then drive home with Trevor in my car afterwards. :)

Sounds like a plan, and shouldn't be a problem, Ros.

That's great tommo, thanks :)
I'll leave it up to you to find out if you have a Kipling team or if you need us for a Mid Sussex one. Then I can let Dave know. 8-)
Dave, sorry to leave this hanging - if you have other possibilities for your team please go for it, I'm sure Trevor and I would be able to slot in somewhere on the night.
Kind SirKT - pray tell us how many people should be in a team?

5 or 6 per team sounds pretty reasonable Ros

Right Ros, The Reaper, plus one, has agreed to join Margo and I in a Mid Sussex Tarts team. So we'll leave it up to you whether you and Sir Trevor want to make our number up to six - or to muscle in on a Dolphin team. ;)

As this is a fund raiser, it seems like a good idea to have as many teams as possible. :)
If the Dolphin needs us to make their team a "runner" then we will be happy to join them. Otherwise we would be delighted to join with you in the Mid Sussex Tarts team to make it up to six.
I guess it's Trevor and I that are acting like tarts now! :o
Dave, please let me know.

Then we will be honoured to join you Dave :)
Especially as we have "borrowed" two of your team as reserves for our Mid Sussex team 8-)
I have even thought up a team name:
We play for the Sportsman and you are the Dolphin team, how about "Sporting Dolphins" as in Sporting Lisbon? ;D

Well Ros has now gone off to swim with Dolphins, and the Reaper has joined Jean's team to keep her in order (or maybe the other way round, better have an electrician on standby ;D)
So I'm down to two and my only hope to make up a team is Sir Jock o'the Strap, who I'll be seeing tomorrow.

Noooo! We wouldn't have deserted you if we'd known you were short tommo :o Shame on you Reaper for dumping the Tarts for Jean's charms ;) Maybe we could have the Sporting Dolphin Tarts? (er, pick the bones out of that one? ;D ) On second thoughts Dolphin Tarts sounds better. How many in your team so far Dave?

Tommo, not a problem, Kev would love to have you and Margo join his team. Could be a winner - except you will be up against me and mine ;D ;D :o ;D ;D

Oh sorry, We've just committed to making up a team of 3/4 into 5/6 but I'll still ask Sir Jock'o'the Strap (intelligent man !) - he might want to join a team and have two knights in it (although once a night is normally enough !)

There will be a raffle on the night as well. Please feel free to donate any prizes, one per team maybe :)

Sorry, Trevor has flu and has taken himself off to bed tonight (leaving me making frantic calls to reserves)
I cannot see him being sufficiently recovered by tomorrow night :(
I will still be there, as I'm already as far as Southwick on a Thursday evening, I hope that still is enough for the Dolphin team?
Trevor won't need a lift down after all, but thanks for the offer Tommo.
SirKT - I'll try to remember to bring a bottle of wine for the raffle :)

A great evening, just got back. Well done Super Mario, you kept us entertained for three hours.
Hope the raffle was profitable, excellent venture for the Worthing League, well done Sir KT for advertising it.
Nice to get together with Wolfman Ken and Sarah, watch out next year 'cos the Henty will add Hem Brewster to our ranks and give the Ice Cream Man and the Stadium A a run for their money ! ;D

Echo your words tommo. :) :) Thanks Steve for your questions and KT for the organizing. I can tell you that the Tarring Club had one of it's best night's this year. Thanks Ros for coming down and making up the numbers for the Dolphin, I hope you enjoyed yourself. :) :)
