Stadium A 4 - 1 Dolphin
More of a contest than the scoreline suggests, as Dolphin put up stern resistance at the Stadium.
Game 1 - Martin Smith v Steve Hurley. Steve opened with 2k, Martin failed to get the break back, and Steve added a further 8320 break to finish with a 12k score. 0-1
Game 2 - Grant Tully v Garry Iles. Grant 10k & touch, finishing with 15k. 1-1
Game 3 - Geoff Jukes v Dave Anscombe. Dave off early, Geoff made 10k and touched. 2-1
Game 4 - Mark James v Colin Green. Your reporter left the one-up short at 7500, Colin responded with 3k but then got a second break after Mark added a further 500. He had just enough time to overhaul the 8k score, but broke down 2k short and 2 mins from the bar when on course. 3-1
Game 5 - Tony Lewis v Bob Thomas. Bob off with 1000, Tony had one scoring visit, recording his best ever league break of 15870. 4-1
Next week the unbeaten Windmill C come to the Stadium, in what is sure to be a good match. You'll have to rely on bigtj for the report on that one, this correspondent will be away cheering on Norn Iron....

Duke of Wellington 3 - 2 Swan A
Duke stay unbeaten - 6 wins out of 6
Nigel Senior 10,470 - 2,020* Dave France Chris Tupper 5,290* - 3,040 Chris Scott Pete Brown 3,550 - 4,950* John Hayward Chris Reeves 9,670* - 2,370 Terry Denyer John Perrin 2,870 - 8,610* Vern Blake
Game 1 - big game that would dictate the course of the match. Nigel Senior v Dave France. Dave almost missed his opening break shot short, and never looked happy after that scoring only 1k on his break. Nigel came back with 3k, but missed a 50-10 split. Nigel got the balls back again and reached 10k although he couldn't touch up (even though he did try) as he kept potting balls till the bar went. 1-0
Game 2 - Tupps made a solid 4k opener (always 4k!) And only added about 1k to that despite getting the break back twice. Chris Scott also had several goes at the break, but eventually ran out of time. 2-0
Game 3 - Pete Brown made a valiant attempt to seal the match and nosed in front of John with a couple of minutes left. A late 2k break by John kept the Swan in it 2-1
Game 4 - Chris Reeves made it look all too easy before coming off on 7k. Terry was only to get one chance to save the match and although he got the break back first time he was off early and the score was now 3-1.
Game 5 - this was tight between John and Vern until Vern made 5k at the end and he sparrd some of the Swan's blushes to make the final scoreline 3-2
PS well done Tony Lewis - great break, is the Stadium table back to its best?

Windmill C 4 Gardeners A 1
Game One; Lorraine Hall with the break against Chris Elliott. Lorraine looked very good but came off at around 2k, Chris edged level only for Lorraine to put on another 2k, Chris got break back and played a sensible winning break. 7490 - 4010 1 - 0
Game Two. Saw Terry Molloy on the braek against Chris Richards. Terry opened with around 4k, Chris getting the braek back but missing. Terry retrieved the balls and knocked in another 7k. 11300 - 400. 2 - 0
Game Three; saw a captains innings from Jean Brackenbridge beating Steve Aylmore, even withstanding a debate about wether Steve should have worn his uniform for Sandras` pleasure. 1390 - 7550. 2 - 1
Game Four; Bill Kerr with the break against the afroresaid Sandra Race. Bill opening with 5k, which effectively was game over, he added another 3k later to ensure victory not raelly giving Sandra much of an opening. 8520 - 1020. 3-1
Game Five; Saw TJ ( trying to gain some self belief) against Sheena Wood, Sheena opened with just over 1k, eventually TJ got the break back and I looked okay until I tried to force a follow through on the left hand fifty, both balls out, but no peg so kept just short of 5k. 5550 - 2390. 4 - 1.
A great evening with plenty of banter, maybe a bit of barracking, a plate of cold fare at the end, lovely and charming company. Windmill still unbeaten and their best start to the season continues and as of yet still to play the same team format for two games.
Big test to unbeaten record next week with a visit to the Stadium, and I will endeavour to remember enough to post report in your absence Mark.

A cracking match at the Swan with the `B` side taking on defending champs 3 Horseshoes `A`.
Game 1 - Kt opens up with 7k against Roger who retrieved the break straight away. Plenty of time left but missed a 50 pot. After a couple of good cushion shots in front of the 100 hole, kt finished off with another 5k. 0 - 1 ;)
Game 2 - Very scrappy game with Phil coming off under 2k and despite Paul Reece getting the balls back couldn`t stay at the table. Several more goes each, Phil coming out on top. 1 - 1 :-X
Game 3 - This turned out to be the pivotal game. Ricky broke off with 2k and splitted both balls up the table with no reward. Barry got them back and made a steady 7k which was enough. 2 - 1 ::)
Game 4 - At this point it looked game set & match to the Swan but Mal had other ideas. Brian broke off with 5k+, Mal retrieved the balls and made 4k and when Brian missed on the 50 pocket, Mal finished off for the point. 2 - 2 ;D
Game 5 - So all down to Jersey q/finalist BB Reaper against Doug Mahy. Reaper off on his first split, Doug settles down to make a steady 7k+ , Kev finishes off with a 6k break (needed the old 20 min clock back to catch Doug). 3 - 2 :-/
Great match but a third defeat in a row for the Horseshoes who now find themselves 6 points off the leaders. :(

Swan B v Three Horseshoes A
Game 1 - Roger Taylor 2390 v KT 12,910 KT kicks off with a solid 6K but breaks down. Roger gets break back, going well, then misses a 50. KT plays game out with another 6K. 0-1
Game 2 - Phil Oakley 4490 v P Reece 1360 Phil starts with a great 900, gets the break back and compiles another 1000 and is now already 2000 up!! Phil gets the break back another twice and ends up with over 4000!! 1-1
Game 3 - Barry Holt 7690 v R Dewdney 4040 Rick kicks off with just less than 2k, Barry gets break back and going well on 5k and misses a split - he was not the only one during the evening. Rick comes straight back, going well and misses a split when less than 1000 behind. Barry kills game. 2-1
Game 4 - Brian Richards 5820 v M Spier 6590 Brian playing well on the table starts with a good 5.5k, but finds himself less than 1000 ahead with a good response, but break left short. Brian gets his reprieve, but fails to capitalise, scoring only 200, and watches and game killed. 2-2
Game 5 - Doug Mahy 7780 v K Hall 6510 Kevin starts with 2.5 k but misses one at the top of the table. Doug gets break back and touches up on 7780. Kevin plays bar out. 3-2
A good match right down to the wire. Plenty of banter and yes, the Inter League Worthing A v B match was mentioned a few times!!
