Q/F 1st Leg Oxford A 5 Eynsham B 0 Agg 43,700 - 13,660 @ The Nelson
Simon Ellam 12,100 Colin Winstone 130 Dave Tooke 7,020 Andrew Wilson 2,130 Steven Sheard 6,700 Pete Soanes 3,870 Kevin Godfrey 8,380 Bob Allsworth 2,770 Alan Oliver 9,500 Dave Bartlett 4,760
Breaks, Simon 9,560, Dave T 6,000, Kevin 8,100, Dave B 4,760 & Alan 9,500.
Excellent team performance by Oxford.......unlucky Eynsham, especially Dave Bartlett who didn't get another shot after opening with 4,760 against Alan.
Who needs the Captain !! :) It will be the same team for the return leg, maybe on a Sunday lunchtime !! :o

Northants A v Witney A First Leg - Rushden Cons Club
Played last night.
Northants won 4-1 but it could have easily been 5-0 up or 4-1 down with 4 legs going reasonably close. The last leg was won by Damo on the 100 hole.
We take a 12K aggregate into the return leg which takes place on Wednesday 30th July at the Lamb and Flag.

Quarter Final Results over 2 legs Wallingford B 5 Wycombe A 5 Wallingford B won on Agg I was told that Maxi McDonnell beat Ernie Jordan in the decider.
I was also told that Witney A overturned a 4-1 deficit from the 1st leg against Northants A.
Semi Final Wallingford B v Witney A Oxford A v Wallingford A
Can someone fill in the missing information, so we can see if it's all true !!
I hope it's not another all Wallingford final again. :-/

Sorry, "someone" has been out all day enjoying himself away from bar billiards for a change. "We will rock you" in fact. But it looks about right to me. Maxi won by 6,400 to give his Wall B team an agg win by 3,720 overall. Tony Willis won by 6,100 to give his Wit A team an agg win by 4,800.
Full details on the bulletin as usual. Captains are welcome to publish their own results on the forum, but it is not something I have ever done, or ever will do. Perhaps next year's secretary will think differently.

The biggest question now is:
Who will run this enormous day of bar billiards? It will not be me! Sorry!
As the AGM will only be a few weeks before this date, the in-coming Secretary will really need to be in control of the situation very quickly.

Semi Final 1st Leg @ The Nelson Oxford A 1 Wallingford A 4 Agg Ox 27,790 Wa 29,190
Simon Ellam 360 Leon Beer 5,910 Dave Tooke 1,680 Tony Martin 6,810 Steven Sheard 2,990 Phil Collins 7,610 Kevin Godfrey 5,030 Mark Turner 7,520 Keith Sheard 17,730 Dennis Atkins 1,340
Breaks, Leon 5,000+, Mark 6,000+, Me 16,000+
A very disappointing result for us, especially as we had chances to win every game. :(
We will have to play a lot better in the 2nd Leg at the Rose & Crown on Tuesday 16th September, if we are to make the final.
A tall order indeed against this talented team, but we will try our best.

Wallingford B and Wallingford A HAVE to arrange dates for BOTH legs as soon as possible and inform me before Oct 17th so that arrangements can be made to have trophies presented on the night of the 2nd leg. As it is my last season, I would like to present them but cannot be available on Tuesdays due to playing in the Eynsham league.
