Now placed under a transfer embargo nonleague.pitchero.com/news/kettering-placed-under-transfer-embargo-8546/With all the on and off field issues going on, KTFC fans should turn out in their droves tomorrow to show their support as i know what it feels like to lose the club you follow and would'nt wish it on anyone. You never know, take your boots tomorrow Quagmire you might get a game! :P

Yeah..............
It's the first sentence of the final paragraph which made oi larff! And a touch confuzzled because I naturally assumed that it MUST be April 1st already ;D
My mate at work, who helps run Desborough Town in the UCL Prem is quietly looking forward to a visit to Numpty Park next term ;-)
So. Just who can explain just what the farking hell is going on then?!

Well, after their first season in their "new ground", Kettering finished in an impressive 24th position in the league (conceeding a few along the way also). www.bluesqfootball.com/tables/0,20984,1441,00.html Oh well, there's always next season where i'm sure Plops fans will keep travelling over in their droves and a "massive" derby against Corby to look forward too! ;D

Its certainly been a less than impressive season for the Poppies. (A mediocre one for the Wombles too.)
As a 'proper' football supporter you have to endure the bad times whilst retaining the belief that it's your destiny to make it into the Football League one day.
Keep the faith !

Poppies saved from going bust: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18460340I wonder if Mr Khan is that same nice man who lent AFC a million to start us off ? (we paid him back of course). Looks like Kettering have dropped two divisions and will now play in the Southern League. :o :o Good trivia question: which club has scored the most goals in FA Cup history?
Answer: Believe it or not it's Kettering Town who scored 817 goals between 1888 and 2006.

I was talking to someone whose son attended the AFC Diamonds 'Trials', he said that it was a complete shambles, and they aren't even paying players, and this is the UCL ::)

That's level 9, two below the Poppies. Oh well, there's always next season where i'm sure Plops fans will keep travelling over in their droves and a "massive" derby against Corby to look forward too! ;D Looks like Corby Town are now the team to support ! ;D ;D

Looks like the Plops may have to stop paying players soon with a dismal 150 in attendance for their first pre-season game today!

Looks like the Plops may have to stop paying players soon with a dismal 150 in attendance for their first pre-season game today! Looks like the move to Nene Park was doomed to failure from the start. Previous Chairman Imraan Ladak had stated the club's intention to return to a new ground in Kettering. He's now gone, and new Chairman George Rolls saved the club from going bust but has himself been banned from having any involvement with football for 5 years, for betting activities at previous clubs Cambridge Utd and Weymouth. Meanwhile Poppies start next season with a ten point deduction. What's going on ? :o

At least the club survived, has a new infrastructure in place, and people are getting their money back ( some of it) instead of letting them go with nothing, and starting a new team up, as some do.

There are a few positives - the club's identity remains intact, and although Rolls has to stay away, he's put a board in place to run things.
Having to more or less start again is distressing, but hopefully you'll regain a 'winning culture' as last season couldn't have been much fun, trying to perform in a strange soulless place in front of dwindling crowds and your best players vulnerable to bids from other clubs.
Been there.

Crazy times. Pompey £52 million in debt and start in the third tier of English football with a 10 point deduction. Meanwhile their local rivals/hated neighbours return to the Premiership but are implicated in a similar betting scam to that which accounted for George Rolls ! And the mighty Glasgow Rangers have today been told they will start in the Scottish third division ( = fourth tier). Surely, that can't be good for football ?

Tommo - that latter point of your previous post couldn't be better for football!! Ensuring clubs accept responsibility and are accountable when they cheat is very good for football. Don't let money cloud your judgement on his one. (but remember I'm a Hoops fan!!) :-)

But good for the teams they'll have to play in the lower divisions, two good payolas a season as they claw their way back.
