In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, Market Inn B are early pace-setters after a 5-1 win at home to the Magnet A. Dave Carliell (3,780), Gareth Butcher (1,620) and Alan Farra (4,690) swept the singles for the Sandwich side, before Mike Callanan & John Higgens (2,410) took the first doubles for the Magnet. Farra & Butcher (6,790) won the next game, and the last leg saw Butcher & Carliell edge Lin Callanan & Mike Callanan 2,970-2,850.
In Division Two, leaders Royal Oak drew 3-3 away to the Plough & Harrow A in Tilmanstone. Mark Graves (3,300) and Steve Lake (4,540) put the Oak ahead, but Brian Carpenter just beat Roger Oldfield 2,660-2,610 for the Plough. Victories for Karen Keen & Ann Keen (3,660) and Ann Keen & Carpenter (4,100) put the Home side in front, before Oldfield & Graves (3,680) forced the draw.
The Magnet B enjoyed a 4-2 in at home to the Two Sawyers B. Val Judd beat Adrian Wicken 1,560-1,550, the narrowest possible margin, to put the Deal side ahead, before Phil Rye (2,000) levelled for Sawyers. Donna Prior (1,950) regained the Magnet lead, and the first doubles saw Judd & Dawn Williams (1,660) also win. Paul H & Wicken (2,240) gave Sawyers hope of a draw, but Williams & Prior edged Wicken & Rye 1,240-1,210 to claim the match victory.
