Although I am not a fan of seeing loads and loads of results on this forum, Corner House A had an interesting result last night at Bletchingdon. We won 4-2 which should keep up at the top of the table with our two chasing teams Red Lion and the Tandem A fighting it out elsewhere. I was feeling back to my best (well almost) with two 9,000 breaks to see off poor Pete Soanes who found it difficult to get the break on his own table. Micky was well below par and could not take any of his chances against Geoff Powell. Steve Biggs came out of retirement after making his last appearance anywhere at Bournemouth March 2007. He was very rusty in the first game against Steve Mudcock but managed to sneak it, and then opened his 2nd leg with 10,000 and then another 4,000.
Un(bl.....dy)believable! You have to be a big natural talent to do that. He had made a 9,000 break in the first round in Bournemouth last year after not playing at all for several months. After I let him down in the 2nd round he put his cue away again. Got it out last night (after about 49 weeks) and (after I had explained the rules) he plays like this.
Puts us all who believe they have to practice to shame.
Could anyone else have done this? Don't think so!!

Bob said that it had been "improved". Still it helped that two of you played there last week, the two that won 2-0, that is. You probably owe the fixture secretary a drink!!!

Tandem A 4 - Red Lion 2
Mossy 2 - Jon Bamsey 0 Greg 1 - Andy Wilson 1 Ray 1 - Colin Wilson 1 Couldn't get on with the table at all. Very difficult. Very right handed, not happy. Colin did well to beat Ray in their first leg. Ray (being the only player to get the 50/100 split more than twice consecutively) played well in the last game. Ugh

Blimey you're an early bird Pete ,thinking of billiards that time of morning just like Milko :) I am often up early anyway, but, on this occasion, I had to get up early to do some work before leaving for Sheffield for the athletics weekend.
