Not a good result for us last night going into the final stretch of the league...
Bletch A 4-2 Kennington
Geoff 2-0 Keith Pete 2-0 Dave Andy 0-2 Mark
A fairly low scoring game on a tricky table! Dave would have won his first game if he could have kept some scores!! losing breaks of 800 and 1200 and losing by 2000 !!! d'oh ! ;)
Now hoping for some favours from the Royal Oak and Bletch B....

Now hoping for some favours from the Royal Oak and Bletch B.... Well Mark - it's funny you should say that....the Bletch B team beat the Vikings 4-2 at Headington!! I didn't believe it either. Red Lion won 4-2 at home to Royal Oak and the Plough won 5-1 at home to Masons. I've updated the league tables on the website.... cheers Tony

Another poor night for us last night, although not helped by the Plough playing their best team! We are trying to throw this league away!!!
Kennington SC 2-4 Plough
Mark 1-1 Bill Greg 1-1 Kevin Keith 0-2 Roger
A well done to Greg who scored 7,580 in his 2nd game, which he believes may be his highest ever score.
Lets hope Bletch B can do us another favour ;) ;D

Well, the Lamb & Flag (aka Oxfam) lost 4-2 at the Masons, North Leigh with Deb and Stacky Barton taking two games each to record only their second win of the season.... They have been trying to bring on a couple of new players during the summer so fair play to them.
Mark - I don't have the scores from last week yet - could you mail me a copy please..cheers

Thanks Mark
We traditionally base it on; 1st points won 2nd matches won 3rd highest team aggregate scores
in that order. If anyone draws on aggregate then it's arm-wrestling!! ;D
cheers Tony

No - as per usual our bad luck strikes again with Tony being away !
Well if we do win it we will have done it the hard way with teams bringing in super subs when their regular players are away.......

We will just have to do something we have never done before - win at the Royal Oak !!! :o

Well, we certainly saved our best performance for last!
Royal Oak 0-6 Kennington SC :o :o
T Ellis-Rees 2680-3780 K Hollis T Cook 670 - 13,230 M Trafford A Pimm 3190 - 6640 I Gordon Thomas 2440 - 3620 Keith Terry 0 - 17,880 Mark Alan 1310 - 5580 Ian
Breaks - Mark 17,880
We were fortunate that the Royal Oak players were nowhere near their best and we had a bit of luck go our way (well we would with Keith in the team) ;) ;D
Thanks to Tony for all his hard work on another very enjoyable summer league with our friends from Witney and will look forward to defending our crown next year ;D
First season and first trophy at our new home ;D ;D

Brilliant - well done Mark, Keith and Ian, that was an amazing win and I know the Royal Oak wouldn't have rolled over easily. Well played, especially you Mark, to get two good scores against TC on the Oak table.
Just as well you did, as the Vikings played very well at Masons winning 6-0 also to end with 60 points and with you on 63. We had a power cut at Hailey so are playing the Red Lion on Thursday but it's a bit meaningless league-wise now as they can't catch either of you.
The other result from last night was that Bletch B drew 3-3 with the Plough.
I am hoping to hold the Summer Singles final at the Red Lion Aston next Tuesday and it would be good to do the presentations then. I'll confirm by Thursday...
cheers Tony

So it was a season of three firsts for us
1. Winning away at the masons for the first time and doing it in style with a 6 - 0 2. Winning away at the Royal Oak - and another cracking 6 - 0 3. Winning a league for the first time in either the eynsham or Witney summer both played on tuesdays...

I see the good results keep coming in for the Bletch B team a draw with the Plough now as well.
Tony, thats a new one on me so how much did it cost to get the electricity board to have a power cut that meant your match would be played after everyone elses - only joking a right nightmare I imagine for those that travelled.
