Myself and machine were talking the other night about this and I thought you would like this Smithy!! All votes welcome from any other players!! Don't have to be Band/Cons club players and feel free to explain your vote!! ;D You must base your vote on the following areas: 1. Success in role (trophies etc) 2. Team organisation 3. Team motivation 4. Drinking ability
And don't vote for yourselves, even though I think I would win!! :D

Now then. I freely admit that any vote cast here is based mainly upon hearsay - but having HEARD just how ineffective Chas was (allegedly) as skipper, yet based also upon his being a colossus of the modern game, he surely gets my vote. It's a win-win, surely. A captain who gets results though inactivity away from the table AND yet also manages to inspire though jaw-dropping exploits at the table.....
Or did I hear that wrong. ;D ;)

Interesting - like trying to weigh up the Anfield side of the 70's against the present day squad
:D Yep both were crap ;D
There can only be 2 front runners from your suggested list Jase
That'll be me and you!! :-*
Seriously it has got to be between "son of god" and "flicky"
Heres my votes 1 Success - just edged by SofG ;D 2 Organisation - Flicky 8-) as SoG couldn't organise a P*** up in a brewery 3 Motivation - Flicky again, SoG's limp :P "you know what to do boys" just doesn't do it 4 Drinking - difficult we are talking the bottom 2 of our team here. Kroney stagger up Higham Hill compared to "mines a Pernod" on the 4th round of the night. Just remembered SoG puking sown the side of the minibus :-[ after presentation night - so another vote for Flicky
For what its worth my vote is for Flickster ::)

Chaps, I am touched and slightly unnerved by all this :o I seem to be winning mainly based on: Having offered Stew a lift. (in Charlies car by the way) ;D Being more organised than Charlie :-[ Being the equal worst drinker in the team ??? Having won the Nene Cup (in 1986 Mick, I will talk you through it sometime) 8-)
I consider my greatest achievement was when I dropped myself from the side and we won 5-0. Twice. ;D Discuss.
By the way Stew, love the link. Another leader destined for greatness :-/

By the way, I have voted for the skipper who has a 100% record in NBBL having never failed to win the thing. Gentlemen we are in a results business do not forget that. >:( Also the poor sod is losing his hair and his missus gives us a lift home sometimes :-*

Tough choice this one! ???
1. Success - Think SOG just shades this one. 2. Organisation - Flicky, Machine and myself have been the most organised with I believe Trev finishing bottom of the pile for that one although I never played under the one year reign of Trev!! Did I miss much? :D Agree with Machine about the brewery comment for the Mullet man! 3. Motivation - I believe my 'Nasser Hussain motivation' just wasn't taken on board for some reason and sent Chicksy over the edge!!! :-[ Damo and Flicky close on this one although as Flicky commented he did drop himself twice and we did win 5-0?!!! :o Discuss Smithy???! :D 4. The big category! Battle of the Featherweights in a three way bout! ;D SOG a sorry bottom place. He even tried to miss a round on Monday again!! Flicky and bum lord of Ecton......can't decide!!
Okay Flicky shades it and gets my vote on the many entertaining staggers machine and I have had with him walking over Higham hill with Jim's tales of Nene cup wins. ;D

Jase thanks for that glowing tribute :'( I have noticed that nobody in all these posts has mentioned my mastery of a Billiard cue :o :o We seem to be more focused on the drinking side of things :( That wouldn't have happened in my day.

Your welcome! The cue ability obviously goes without saying Flicky. You are up there with all the great captains such as Mike Brierley the ex England cricket captain................then again great captain.............sh*t batsman. Not a good example!?! :o errr...........Damo the County A captain maybe?!?!!!! Taxi for Neal and I'll get me coat! :-X

Chicksy would like to vote for you as the worst skip Jase :o
But his heads so messed up ??? after your captaincy that he now spends his days outside Lidl drinking super strength cider from a brown paper bag and yelling one up at passers by
Anyway I'm not done with the best captain yet!!
Before Chas was resurrected as Son of God he was a mere bar billiards mortal like the rest of us
However many years ago he did indeed score over 10k in a single game. Whats more this included 2 seperate breaks of over 5k from which Chas tucked up!!!!
Who was his inspirational captain you ask?
Vote MACHINE - You know it makes sense :-*

We need to get the all important Mullet vote then. I'm sure Chicks will vote for me so it's you or Trev as worst captain! :D

:o Andy, you have been telling Chas to stop living on that break for about the last 15 years and now you claim it as your inspiring captaincy :o Me thinks me hears barrels being scraped ;)
My vote for the worst captain has to go to Hamster. He won nothing as far as I remember, but then again we were all a bit traumatised by his teamtalks and probably got a rollicking even when we did win. Trev cant be the worst. I enjoyed his team selections immensely. Well when I say selections it was a case of driving around Rushden knocking on doors at 20 past 8. ;D :o Trev operated the first squad rotation system, he was an innovator. Liverpool used to do the same until it dawned on Rafa that the whole squad is s##t. :D

Thanks for the WORST captain vote Smithy!!! Strangely enough I don't think we did win anything with me as captain! :'( Not sure why? Maybe not captain material, I was only allowed to be vice captain for Higham cricket team for some reason......................and that only lasted a year. Rollicking's Smithy, you should have been standing in the slips with me bowling!!! :D I like to call it passionate about sport! By the way is Chicksy still around or has he been sectioned yet?!! :D One good thing is that I will never be voted Cons captain again.......there is method in my madness.

My vote as newcomer to the team goes to Sir Tiny.
Damo is the best captain I have ever played under, motivation to win and his ability on the Bar Billiard table too.
I truely believe tiny can lead us to a double. 8-)
