Ian has allowed a couple of Billingshurst news items on the Horsham board, so I'm sure he won't mind me giving an up-to-date table for the benefit of any guests viewing in who might be interested :

See Tony Franks is still playing well :) Oh yes indeed Pete, we don't get to see averages in Billingshurst but since I've been playing with him in the Bridge House team this season his average will have been very respectable :D

Yes it just occured to me today that Billingshurst doesn't get much exposure, and it's a good league.
It's a pity someone can't have a word in its Hon.Secretary (Peter Gibbs) 's shell-like to have a go on our forum. He's computer literate or so I would think.
Failing that we've always got Sparky who could keep us clued up with the odd writeup from his Wednesday night match.
IanG could do similar to me by giving an up-to-date Horsham League table on here too ? 8-)

I agree that Billingshurst is a good league, both for playing standard and friendliness, there are quite a few good players hiding in these backwaters ;D and they are probably quite happy to stay mostly out of the limelight 8-)
I will try to remember to make a few notes over the remaining few games this season but don't expect literary masterpieces :-/ but will be returning to Mid Sussex for Wednesdays next year (pity I didn't do the write-ups during my winning streak - which seems to have come to an end >:()

but will be returning to Mid Sussex for Wednesdays next year (>:() Typical Sparky always good news bad news ;D It will be good to see you back where you should be it's just a shame that your Billingshurst outings have to suffer in the process I hope that Tony finds a suitable quality replacement for you & also that Doug makes a good recovery & can take his place back in the team.

Thanks Ian and I too hope Doug recovers and returns to the team, but there are rumours of another 'retired' player being persuaded to play some games and I hope it happens...but ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies :D

My money's on a guy with the name of a small bird as his surname. ;) I too offer my best regards and wishes to Doug Covey for a speedy and full recovery. As you will see if you read this old thread, I owe him ! barbilliards.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1158261720&page=1

I must find somewhere to buy the County Times. The shop on our parade has been closed down & I can't always get into Smith's where did you buy yours Tommo ?? & thanks for putting up thread it's good to see. I don't mind if we started a new thread for Billingshurst info for this season !!

Margo gets the WSCT from the local garage, and has to be in there quick as they only stock a few copies.
Ideal situation would be if we could get a few Billingshurst people on the forum and then they could have their own board (to which this thread could be transferred and divided.) Ding will be a good start, but Gibbsy would be the ideal person to feed all his own league's information - and to moderate. But knowing Gibbsy it will take a lot of arm twisting. I tried to tap him up when we played the Jubilee Team Cup final last month. What better place than here to publicise the expanded competition for next season ?
I'll continue to put up a periodic update, and please add your own input should it not be regular enough.

It would be good to get some Billingshurst players active on the forum, most especially Gibbsy, so they could have their own section.
