The Wallingford League held their Finals day last night at the Hithercroft Sports Club and I must say it was another enjoyable night held at an excellent venue.
These are the results with some terrific matches played.
Mixed Pairs: Jenny Florey & Phil Collins beat Sue & Dennis Atkins Off The Spot: Mark Trafford beat Dave Tooke John Payne H/Cap: Sean Stratford beat Craig Mace Section Three Ind: Chris Bateman beat Arthur McIntyre Blewbury Cup: Mark Trafford beat Paul Lawson Section Two Ind: Lewis Stratford beat Adam Thorn Brilliant match between these two young stars with Lewis being over 10,000 up from the 1st leg and Adam opening with an 11,000 brk in the 2nd leg but Lewis still came back for a superb win. Mens Ind: Phil Collins beat Pete Welch Another great match on a tricky table, Pete was 8,000 up from the 1st leg but Phil opened with 11,000 in the 2nd playing the reverse break, Pete scored some more to lose by just 1,600. Ladies Ind: Jenny Florey beat Sonya McIntyre Sorry Jenny I don’t know how the match unfolded as I was winning my match for Oxford!! ;D A Pairs: Leon Beer & Phil Collins beat Dennis Atkins & Paul Lawson B Pairs: Alan Lowe & Dave Rose beat Ian Gordon & Adam Thorn League K/O: Horse & Harrow beat Didcot CC Div 3 K/O: Queens B v Marlborough Club not sure who won this. Player of the Year: Phil Collins
Presentations by the AEBBA Chairman Phil Hawkins.
My apologies if I’ve forgotten something or the scores are not correct.
There was also a match played on the night between Wallingford & Oxford in memory of the late Ray Sturgess that was won by Wallingford 5-4. 8-)
Keith.
Edited my mistakes

Leave it to the Wallingford League champ!!!! ;D ;) Maybe, but then I doubt if we would have got any information on here about it, so I thought I would do my own report (albeit with one or two mistakes) of how things went on the day. Keith ;)

Better to have something rather than nothing. I did spot the error as I remembered standing next to Craig at the time but thought perhaps I got it wrong......
