Just to add that the interested parties so far seem to be dealers in silver and/or memorabilia, so I have put a bid in.
It went for £20.88. I pushed the bidding up from £7 but fell to a last-second bid from a fresh bidder.

Last night I was handed a file of papers by a kind lady who used to be involved with the organisation of the Sussex Ladies team's participation in the National events of the early 1980s.
There is some additional gold dust in the form of AEBBA AGM Minutes from the same period, as compiled by Hon.Secretary of the time Ken Hussey: A quick trawl through reveals some interesting background on Lincs, Leics and Wilts and draws reference to their local leagues.
Included in the file are some scorecards for the Ladies Competitions, although in some cases the year is not apparent. I will list these separately on here as a matter of interest for anyone who may find that the names ring a bell.
After I have disseminated the information, and posted any extracts that are considered noteworthy, the AEBBA records will be made available to anyone wishing to take over their ownership.

Having now had the opportunity to run over these minutes with a fine tooth comb, here is a precis of the contents. These should hold a certain degree of fascination to anyone who was around wielding a cue in the early 1980s, which were formative years for the organisation of the game on a national level: transport links then weren't what they are today, and events had to be shared out between a number of different venues at different counties - with one Grand Final. First mentions are made of the BIOC at Jersey, and the Open Pairs at Eastbourne as a forerunner of Bournemouth. And of course traditional 'Opens' weren't yet in full swing !
3/9/1983 @ Fox & Hounds Reading Proposal for Hinckley League to be affiliated as Leics.; Arrangements for Mens County, Groups A,B,C; Ladies County, Groups A,B - also the Finals: different venues: Redhill, Oxford, Rushden, Reading, H/Wycombe - and Maidstone on 15/10, 18/9, 9/10,1/10,25/9 - and 30/10/83 respectively; NBBA Team Event finals at Byfleet 20/11/83 in 3 groups. 15/1/1983 @ Caversham Bridge Hotel, Reading The incident involving Herts; arrangements for International v Jersey; Open Doubles @ Eastbourne; Arrangements for Mens Indivs Groups A,B,C; Ladies Indivs, Groups A,B,C - At H/Wycombe 19/6/83 27/11/1982 AGM @ Caversham Bridge Hotel, Reading; Kent congratulated on winning both the NBBA Team and the Mens County, and Oxon winning the Ladies in their first final appearance; Plans for a sponsored Open Doubles at the Lansdowne Hotel, Eastbourne; Jersey made Honorary members of AEBBA; Herts reprimanded for a further incident, involving someone’s wife at finals at British Aerospace; 1st vear of Nat.Indivs had been a success, hoping to run again in H/Wycombe in June 1983; Doncaster League adopted as full members of AEBBA as South Yorks; Likewise Wiltshire with its 4 leagues (Pewsey, West Wilts, Swindon, Devizes); New Indiv Competition to be run by Table Operators under off-the-spot rules; Peter Pannell elected an honorary life member and vice-president of AEBBA.; Fazza suggested Bill Maynard who plays in the Hinckley BBL should be approached to be the new AEBBA Patron. 4/9/1982 @ Fox & Hounds, Reading A die produced for the trophy centres in accordance with Charles Cordery's design. This will ultimately save on engraving costs; Tony Gout (Lincs) reported that the Bourne League had increased from 5 teams to 21 in just 12 months; Charlie Wheeler reported that the Doncaster League had increased from 6 teams to 12 teams and wished to affiliate to AEBBA; The Secretary reported that he was due to meet Leics representatives in November. It was understood however that they "used an obscure make of table."; Arrangements for Mens County, Groups A,B; Ladies County, Groups A,B - also the Finals. different venues: Oxford, H/Wycombe, Worthing, Bushey - and Byfleet on 17/10, 18/9, 11/9,10/10 - and 21/11/82 respectively; Discussions on Jersey and on the format for the NBBA Team championships. 16/1/1982 AGM @ Fox & Hounds, Reading 1st BIOC in Jersey had been a success and the first international was planned for February at Berkeley Hotel, Soton, raising the game's profile. A selection committee elected; A letter received from Charlie Wheeler notifying the existence of the new 5-team league in South Humberside. Awaiting further developments; The unacceptable behaviour of the Association's Patron at the Grand Finals was discussed….on top of which at his request he had been provided with much information for his book, which there was now considerable doubt on whether it would come to fruition. It was resolved to ask for return of the material, and then to let him down gently and find a new Patron; Norrie Lambert elected an honorary Life Vice-President of AEBBA; Lincolnshire adopted as members of the AEBBA: The Bourne & District BBL had been in existence for some 30 years and the players were prepared to travel to County events; Arrangements for Mens Indiv and Ladies Indiv comps (2 groups in each) on six tables at one venue (PO Club, Tun Wells) on 29/6/1982; Arrangements for Mens County, Groups A,B (to be held in Sussex, Sep 1982); Ladies County, Groups A,B (to be held in Herts early/mid Oct 1982); Grand finals of NBBA All-England Team Championship at Byfleet 21/11/82. 5/9/1981 @ Fox & Hounds, Reading The planned sponsored Winston Twin Pub competition involving pubs in Greater London and the Home Counties had yielded a disappointing 38 entries from 3,500 pubs circulated; The Reggie Bosanquet book venture seemed to be making progress with two meetings with the AEBBA Sec, but nothing further would be offered until some news from publisher; A letter received from Charlie Wheeler notifying plans for a new 8-team league in Scunthorpe and Crowle with plans to affiliate to AEBBA as South Humberside; Arrangements for Mens County, Groups A,B; Ladies County, Groups A,B - also the Finals; Different venues: Cambs, H/Wycombe, Redhill, Oxford - and Byfleet on 18/10, 31/10, 26/9,8/11 - and 22/11/81 respectively; Mens Indiv had already taken place with Ken Foster of Kent worthy winner; Ladies Indiv to be at H/Wycombe on 28/11/81. 21/2/1981 @ Fox & Hounds, Reading A cigarette company-sponsored Pub competition for bar billiards, darts and pool involving 3000 pubs in Greater London and the Home Counties was announced; Urgent appeal for material for Reggie Bosanquet's book on bar billiards. P.Farrelly also pursuing possibility of TV coverage by Anglia TV; New venue being sought for AEBBA Mens Individual championships to take place in April. Grand Finals booked for 22/11 81 at Byfleet. New Highest Break trophy commissioned; Dates and Venues announced for County Championships. Ladies Individuals redrawn into 3 groups of 3 following the withdrawal of Cambs; 13/12/1980 AGM @ Fox & Hounds, Reading Bar Billiards had progressed during the last year, including the National Finals. (AE finals @ British Aerospace Club, Ladies @ H/Wycombe) More sponsors called for, the Aidelle Products 2-year deal having come to an end. Trumans deal to continue, hopefully; C.Wheeler had sent letters with a plan to run a nationwide club competition, and requesting help, but it was felt that this was one competition too much at this moment in time; Reggie Bosanquet had written requesting material in the form of anecdotes for a book on bar billiards he was writing; Herts County side were censured for bad language used and general rowdy behaviour at National Finals at Roffey Club last October; Various rule changes were voted on; Draws were made for Mens Indivs Groups A & B, to be played in March and Ladies in Groups A & B to be played in November. Venues TBA by sponsors; Also Mens County, Group A in Cambs in October and Group B in Bucks also in October. Ladies: Group A in Surrey in Sep, Group B in Herts in Sep. Firstly, here is the scorecard for the famous tied match quoted here in the Timeline, which may be of interest to Auntie Pauline: Inter-Counties Ladies Final at the Brit.Aerospace SC, Byfleet 21st November 1982Oxford Ladies | Score | Sussex Ladies | Score |

I have by now finished sifting through the collection of minutes, scoresheets and rough notes that were handed to me: it has taken a while to make sense of it all, but the findings provide a useful snapshot of the period 1980 to 1983 and some of it is quite enlightening.
A huge chunk concerns Southern Counties tourneys, the scores for which as one level below National I will of necessity gloss over; the organisation, comprising the counties of Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent was originally formed to find a southern challenger to take on one from the 'northern' contingent to find the national champ. I recall the eventual disbanding of the organisation after a different county failed to show up two years running, and the counties went it alone. I think by about this time the Canterbury league had imploded, and Hants was down to just the one league, with Portsmouth looking northwards and joining the "Inter Area". One interesting find is that in the 1981 Ladies Competition, a "Mens Select" team was formed at short notice from the spectators in order to make the numbers up ! (Team included Brian Richards, Mike Ingram and Peter Rourke from Sussex and George Stevens and Ross Kenrick from Surrey)
The other thing that shines through for me is the amount of negotiating and positive arragements taken aboard by the AEBBA committee at the time, which was one of change. "Jersey" had just started; also the "Eastbourne Pairs" (forerunner of Bournemouth); the National Table Operators were still proactive; breweries were still offering sponsorship (this was to change when Pool was introduced to pubs in the same decade); there were as many as 13 counties; the AEBBA had a patron; and there was even talk of arranging a "bar billiards convention"
But the main triumph was in the "matrix management" of the national competitions before the time of good transport links which we enjoy today: Each county put a tender in to stage a competition at a venue of their choice, the counties were drawn into 2 or 3 groups for Ladies and Men, for County and for Individual champions, and these then went to the vote.
As a point of interest I will start by listing the ones which were used between 1981 and 1983, and elaborate separately with which counties attended each event.
Cambs: Histon Football Club Bucks: Searle Recreation Club; Molins, Saunderton, H/Wycombe Surrey: Salfords Post Office Club; Royal Earlswood Hospital SC Oxon: Osberton Radiators Club; Oxford United SC Sussex: Inland Revenue SC, Worthing Herts: Bournal Boys Club, Bushey Kent: Post Office Club, Tunbridge Wells Northants: Rushden Working Mens Club Berks: Thames Conservation Club, Reading
British Aerospace SC in Byfleet, Surrey and the Emma Hotel in Maidstone, Kent were also used for the Grand Finals.

Finally, here is the full picture of National events held in the three years 1981, 1982 and 1983: No wonder AEBBA meetings are reputed to have got rather heated at times and on occasions went on beyond midnight ! Yes, just as many venues are used these days, but remember that Opens hadn't started then, and to make these possible a massive streamlining had to take place in order to reach the neat tried and formula that we have today..........

If anyone has recollections from taking part in any of the above events, please feel free to add to this thread !
