The Black Horse in Rottingdean has a table that is not in a league. From what I can make out, it has not been in long and they are looking to get a team together at some stage. I would expect they would join the Brighton league but maybe even the Lewes one.

Hi Tommo,
I have listed all the tables that I no of in the Brighton Area that are not League tables in the Brighton Section. I did not go into detail such as opening times of the pubs, which I think is a good idea for anybody visiting an area they don't know.
Maybe a link to a street map or Google earth for each place could be useful.
An example could be:
Shoreham Duke Of Wellington (L) 105 Brighton Road, Noon-11pm The Marlipins (Non L) High Street, 11am-11pm

It would be an excellent idea for individual leagues to adopt this discipline. As you can see, we already have one in place for the Mid Sussex league: barbilliards.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=midsussex&action=display&thread=1222Now that you've started a Brighton thread I'm sure that other people from Brighton will be willing to add to it. And there's nothing to stop you from adding a thread for Portsmouth detailing the findings of your day out. The Portsmouth moderator(s) could then decide whether to leave it as/is - or embody it within a more detailed summary of their own. If other leagues followed your lead (I'm sure West Sussex would be willing, for starters) then that would be an invaluable source of information for Bernie to draw on. He can then use his webspace to add the links to photographs and other information and also provide a map. Everyone's a winner !

Hi Tommo
The Rat & Trumpet, The Albion (Portslade) and The Kendal no longer have tables in them.
I'm fairly sure the The Hove Park Tavern's table has gone as well.

It seems that The Blue Anchor, Boundry Road, Portslade has a table. The last time it had one, the Landlord at the time got rid of it, without notice, half way through the season.

Thank you Regg3y, have made a note for next time we do an update. (Note to Self: Copthorne Mens Club also has one, local to Mid Sussex).
Any news on the Trafalgar Street one? - sounds strange, is it available to the public or just for private use ?

I haven't seen anyone or been around Trafalar Street to find more.
The Marlipins in Shoreham no longer has a table.
I have also been told the The Black Horse table has gone but I cannot confirm this.
A mate of mine told me yesterday the The Stag in Kemp Town, Brighton might have a table. I'll find out for sure when I can.
The Horse & Groom, Islingword Road, Brighton has a table but has no one to really look after it. It rolls all over the place. It wouldn't be any point in trying to level it as the Landlord keeps moving it.

The Blue Anchor table is one of those with the pool table type coin slot that takes the skin off your knuckles. The two black pegs (apparently The Capital Coin Company only had two black and one white pegs) seem a little close to the 100 hole. It is not easy to pot a ball from the spot directly into either 20 hole.

I vaguely remember being in the Stag in Kemptown on saturday night celebrating Madam Baden's birthday. I can confirm that there is no table in there unless it is in a back room somewhere. Mind you aftersaturday night i'm not sure I can even find the pub let alone a table.........

Rainbow Books is on the same side of the road and down the hill from The Lord Nelson. Its only a small place with crooked bookshelves in the windows. Opposite the Energy Training Centre.
I think the Stag rumour was just that.

Hello Clive,
Another table in Brighton for you.
The Horse and Groom has a table, I think the address is Islingwood Road.

Yep, already got that one, although I hadn't added it to the main list. Wonder if Regg3y's comments below still apply? :-/ The Horse & Groom, Islingword Road, Brighton has a table but has no one to really look after it. It rolls all over the place. It wouldn't be any point in trying to level it as the Landlord keeps moving it.

As far as I know The Horse & Groom table is still the same.
I cannot remember if I mentioned it before, but I am certain the The Black Horse, Rottingdean no longer has a table.

Fitting two pieces of the jigsaw together........... The landlord of the Stag, a Mr E.Ricketts, has recently joined the Forum and made a first post thus: Stag Kemptown Brighton thinking about getting a Bar Billiards table so looking for intrested players and / or teams for next season please contact me 07891 375433 (landlord) ... However, he posted this on the thread for the Brighton website and no-one has given him a response so far. Looks a nice pub: www.wix.com/mbala7/stag

The Horse and Groom table does roll a lot but with a bit of TLC (and a proper light) it will be up to league standards without a doubt. The table now does not appear to be moved at all which is a good thing.

The Prince of Wales needs adding as they are in your Summer League. If you mean the Brighton POW it has not had a table for over a year now. Trace had to take it out as it was taking no money being stuck down in the basemeant.

Ah, I was going by this: www.barnesinns.co.uk/prince/index.php..........and also found a reference to a Summer League table - but that was last year (2010). Thanks for the response Regg3y, this one now stays off the radar. And I'm removing the Black Horse Rottingdean from the AEBBA map as per your comment below: I cannot remember if I mentioned it before, but I am certain the The Black Horse, Rottingdean no longer has a table. tommo

The Horse and Groom table has now been fixed in place and has been leveled. It played reasonably well last night and with a bit more TLC will be a nice top.

Hi Tommo,
I contacted The Royal Coach this morning. Yes they do have a table. At present they have just started their first ever pool team and going to see have that pans out before trying for a Bar billiards team. I cannot say anyting about the quality or make of the table as I only phoned them, but I am hoping to get in there to have look in the next couple of weeks.

From the sound of the website it sounds like a biker's pub.
