No bl--dy idea. You must be getting me mixed up with a good average player from the 80s and 90s who remembered the details of every match he ever played.
I have the scores somewhere and will look them up when I don't fancy watching my paint dry any longer.

Yeah, it was the veteran's team, but I was only 71 and the youngest amongst the whole team.

I was there! And I do remember it as it was the first time I played for England. I think I played Dave Mahoney but am sure I won whoever it was. Can't remember the match score though.

Speaking to Charlie Guildersleve today, and he confirmed the dates of the founding of the High Wycombe league. He also said that 1986 saw the League at its most expansive - they had 62 teams that year.
Charlie has served an unbroken stint as League Secretary since 1969: I imagine that to be a record that hasn't been - or never will be - beaten. :o
