Gavin:1190 Spud:2950 I ground out a solid victory against a very unluck Gavin who black pegged around a grand or so.
Lee:1130 Nikki:1360 Nikki once again proved she has nerves of steel as she buried the last ball in the 100 hole at the first time of asking to finish off a very close frame. So, 2-0 up and everything was looking rosy in the Bravos garden. Things then turned an ugly shape of pear... Mark:1590 Lynne:740 Lynne looked in control of this one when an innocuous shot by the 50 hole whipped out and took out the black peg. Mark stepped in to take control and poor Lynne never really got back into it. Martin:4230 Bravo:2520 Martin looked to have gifted Bravo an early chistmas treat when he pegged his opener and left Bravo on break. The skip never looked comfy though and Martin took his chance with a very nice 2k5 break. Bravo got back on break but had no time left unfortunately. Paul:3390 Paul:1700 The nightmare continued as Mr. Moyes-Robb left the one-up short on a couple of occassions to leave Mr. Blackburn in. He took his chances well and sealed the frame and match for his team.
Looks like the Chrimbo break couldn't have come sooner for us but never mind. Well played to the Bees who are always a pleasure to play.
Business as usual - a hammering for tommo and his teammates rally and bring home the points.........
Jim Ashford 1490, Mick Holmwood 4460 (0-1) Andy Brooks 4230, tommo 1650 (1-1) Chris Ashford 1570, Barry Timson 3220 (1-2) (tragic for Chris, who had about 1400 going and we worked out could have won with the 200 but in the excitement of the moment put the break down four times) Les Whiteman 2670, Alan Downs 3300 (1-3) (again,Les in control as the bar went with the scores level, but left the break short to leave a grateful Alan to mop up) ------H-----14,790, SuperG 2390 (2-3) H first to get established and knocked in break of 10k which allowed Graham the chance to play a few nice shots before H added a few more.
This replacement table is definitely playable, although very unforgiving at the back. But not knocking it, as with a bit more luck the Fish could have beaten us 4-1!
Excellent hosts, thanks to Mrs Brooks for the excellent half-time beef stew and dumplings to warm the cockles on a cold night. 8-)
