Is there going to be a representative from Berkshire going to be at Bucks on Sunday ? If not, may be a good idea to make sure there are plenty of forms on the admin desk.....

Apology on this one
Dave asked me to put it on the AEBBA site and I have just realised I had forgotten.
The entry form is now on there.

Excellent day with the tables setting a very fair challange for all. As usual a feast of great bar billiards and congratulations to KT on his win and to runner-up Leon Beer. Plate winner Mark Brewster and runner-up Nigel. Good venue with ample space and viewing was easy.

That sounds like a lovely draw for me against Mark Brewster oh well thats the reward for entering I guess.... I think I caught Mark on an off game or a dodgy table after my win with 4K in one and 6K in the second to send Mark into the plate. I then watched Mark go all the way to win it. I then lost to Pauline in the next round with scores more my average of around 3-4K per frame.

Well done, Beefy. You certainly gained a big 'scalp' there in the Rooster. 8-)
I would like to know your secret, as he's knocked me out of the last two Opens I've played in (Kent and Bucks).

I definitely would and perhaps then then I might just win a match. Seriously, good venue, ran smoothly and with some fascinating matches. :)

Result Last 8 Leon Beer beat Phil Collins Steven Sheard beat Bernie McCluskey Mal Spier beat Gareth Lloyd Kevin Tunstall beat Chris Reeves
Last 4 Leon beat Steven Kevin beat Mal
Final Kevin beat Leon
Well done Kevin.
I must say that I felt a little sorry for Steven, because he had to play Leon on table 8, which Leon had played in a previous round. Even though Steven was happy about it, I wasn't. >:(
I know there was not a table available that neither player had played, but to be fair to Steven a 5 minute knock up should have happened, even if it means both players having one. At least that way he's had a go on the table to find the quirks.
It didn't help that he lost the toss as well.
Keith :(

Well done Kt for the win, and he is just pipping me at the top of the Grand Prix standings (35pts - 34pts) with just Jersey to go.
Also well done to Leon who played very impressively all day and set KT a stiff task in the final.
Congrats to Mal on his first semi final.
Also well done to Mark Brewster for beating me in the plate final.
And thanks to Dave Alder and team for running the days events
See some of you same place for the county champs next week.

Tommo the secret to beating Mark brewster is easy, just out score him. A bit difficult when he kicks off with 19k - I've never even got that many in practice. ::)

Tommo the secret to beating Mark brewster is easy, just out score him. No its even simpler than that. I didn't care what my score is it was a simple case of staying on the table as long as I could. I did not make any breaks over 3000 just kept the score board ticking over. I was 2000 down from the first but then went 5000 up in the second and Mark then lost 2000 near the end after a ball went behind the 30 hole. I must say there were several people smiling at some of the shots I played. I am one of those that has a very unique style and often hit the balls way too hard but they have a habbit of finding a hole somewhere. One quote someone said to me before the game was the only hope you have is if Mark rattles in a big score and then pegs it on the 100. Well thats what happened but on 2000 in the first game. I am sure if we play again he will be out for revenge in a big way although he did go on to win the plate, beating Keith Sheard in the second round of that comp. Keith lost to Phil Collins in his second match which was a bit contreversial because he had a bye in his first match after his opponent was late. The club is a great venue but it would be better if the bar was open from 10 instead of 12 ! Ok for those regulars who know to stop at the garage before going into to pick up some drinks before the bar opens. Tip for next weekend if the county champs start before 12pm.
