Who would this be Clive?
If you get the chance please warn him that the only lights are shared spots with the dartboard which have to be swung round, the pegs are kept in the till and that it has a short clock, around 14 minutes despite adjusting to its max.
If he can make it Thursday evening I will be there, if he wants todo a different evening let me know and I'll check with the landlord and pop along myself

It's Barry and he was a bit vague about things......he usually goes to Somerset about this time of year, sometimes on the motorbike. He's left now so I can't reach him, but he did confirm before he went that he'd added the Cornish Inn to his itinerary.

Shame I haven't got a mobile number for him, it would be nice to meet up again.
After my last post I suddenly had an awful thought..... that you might have meant ANOTHER member of your team(s) and was thinking that if it were him I might have to avoid the pub for a while until the landlord forgives me for sending him there ;)

I hope Barry doesn't pop in to the Cornish...... went there last night to find that the landlord had 're-glued' the D with Evostick :o :o it now has a nice domed top with a ridge around the edge making it almost impossible to place a ball on the D, couple that to the fact that the table has been 'nudged' and is now quite uphill with a right hand roll, he offered coins to enable me to level the table but I refused, its not worth touching until the D is sorted, he reckons it'll be fixed before our next visit but I am very concerned about the condition of the top once the Evostick has been removed, we had 2 games on the top and a best score of around 1500 (compared to a 'normal' of around 5k) then played pool for the rest of the night. Is Barry coming down for the Calstock bike event?? www.calstockbikeshow.co.uk/

Won't the landlord let you make your own D ? I always carry a D making kit around with me in the car. Had a bit of a scare the other day though when preparing the Mill table for Dun Horse v Stout House cup game.......ironed over the D by mistake and shredded it. ::) But it took less than 5 minutes to make and fit a new one. 8-)

It seems as though COVID has another victim, I have spoken to the Cornish Inn today, they will re-open on Saturday with a one way system in place, waiter(ress) served drinks & food, No pool, no jukebox, no one armed bandits, and NO BAR BILLIARDS, and the feeling is that the table will have to be sold to 1) make space & 2) Cashflow requirements.
The one way system means that punters will have to go around the outside of the building to re-enter the front door each and every time they want a drink, cant see them getting many punters on a rainy evening.
Cashflow here is also poor and I dont think I could justify making the space for a game that I'd play by myself. So it looks as if the Cornish League & Open are a thing of the past (and a figment of my imagination)
Anyone interested in a table that has possibilities (nice break and a working timer, even if it is short clock) let me know, I'll post on here as soon as I know for definite that they are selling

That's a shame, Q. Especially as the South West was one of the regions least at risk.
With the tourist trade being saved in the nick of time, are things now looking up for your cattery ?

We've started to take some bookings for later this month, 2021 is looking good but we're having to write off £15k of cancellations due to COVID, but we're alive & (reasonably) healthy so there's nothing to complain about

Please keep me posted on this. Glad to hear that you are both well and business is starting to pick up.
