Bar Billiards in The North West (incl. Manchester)

This one is on the edge of the Lake District, overlooking Duddon Sands - the estuary the other side of Furness to Morecambe Bay :

But certain things don't add up:
1) 1910 doesn't sound right. wood looks far too recent.
2) It looks a sort of hybrid : admittedly the round legs suggest a pre-war Jelkes, but there is nothing else Jelkes-like about it !

Time for Mr Sav to put his slide rule over it, methinks. ;)

I will have to try a few of these locations out the next time I'm in Manchester. I know that the Rising in Hazel Grove, Stockport definitely doesn't have a table as I've been there recently as the map said there was one, so would be good if the AEBBA map could be updated to remove this cheers :)

Also as far as I can work out, the Merry Monk in Rochdale has closed down now, so perhaps that needs removing from the map as well

Thanks that would be useful and might save a wasted journey :)

Also The Marble Arch in Manchester doesn't have a table, but apparently they have plans to 'do something pub-gamey' next year, so maybe hope for the future!

Hi guys we have now made the move to Manchester hopefully my jelks table will be coming next week hopefully I can pull a league together here like I did in Sheffield

We have had very little feedback so far on the claimed venues in Manchester, and by now our information may be well out of date.

Any Flickr pics or YouTube clips we have seen point to it being a 4-Pin enclave, so you will probably have to start it up from scratch.

We found a Bar Billiards table at The Blossoms pub on Buxton Road (the A6) in Heaviley, Stockport. The first table we've found since moving up here last year.

The Blossoms table - looks to be in good condition, and it's a nice post-war Jelkes. Was thrown at first by the modern-style backboard which doesn't match....or more correctly, by the absence of a swinging back board, compensated by the addition of a wall-mounted modern scoreboard, giving that effect. (Call me Mister Picky.)

There has been talk of that one reopening for the last year. Micro brewery as well and only a few miles from where we ride vintage rallies in the Lakes based at Torver.

It has my attention and there has been a public meeting over plans..
