Hi Sam
Thank you to you and the guys for putting in the effort to keep this great weekend going . Looking at the hotel the room choice is quite varied from basic to deluxe , will you be offering different price packages rather than the all in one price we had at the Queens . Let's hope by March we can all get together and enjoy the game we love , oh and a few beers and a laugh that we all look forward to .
Kev .

3 of us went to the Stag ( Jim Millward pub) , the billiard bar was quiet so were ok to play on the table . We washed hands and sanitized after each game . Jim has made it a safe environment to play in , so anyone who feels safe to go out I'm sure Jim would welcome you all . Jim is looking to run a small tournament, all games played at the Stag , will let him post more details later .

Sadly, i think each venue will have different guidelines on distancing depending on its floor plan with bigger venues having a more relaxed distancing regime, currently having 10 people in an enclosed space with a high proportion over 70 still seems a bridge too far leagues. But the goalposts are changing regularly, probably some comps could take place but i expect plenty of the more senior members will not be available With all venues struggling this is why those of us who feel confident in going out into these pubs should have a pint or two , lime and water allowed if you are a designated driver , play a game if the landlord is happy , otherwise we will lose these tables and not have a game to go back to .

Hi Chris
We both love the game and want it to continue as before eventually , but do the best we can until then . We've both worked throughout so are working with far more people than we are likely to get down our local , how do we know we've got it , had it ,immune or maybe just a carrier , until a vaccine is readily available ( could be years or ever) , we have to continue living our lives in the safest way we can .

Common sense , balls cleaned before the start of evening , players wash hands before game and keep a metre distance from other players , I am suggesting this for people who feel safe to play a friendly game in this way . Anyone who doesn't feel safe to play doesn't have to , and anyone feels that more procedures need to be put in place maybe able to sort .

"How are we you managing Machines (including ATM’s)? Our dedicated hygiene Team member has a scheduled set of cleaning tasks, including regular sanitisation of our machines. Where possible, the machines have been spaced out or closed where these cannot be safely used (for example pool tables)
It says closed when cannot be safely used , a bar billiard table tucked away in a corner could surely be safely used with common sense from players .

As a landlords wife, i am obviously keen for the pub to re-open and resume normal business. However, as a nurse i have seen the full impact of this virus. I have been on the front line throughout and sucumbed to the disease myself in April. Thankfully recovering and being able to go back to work to rejoin the fight against the virus. I would advise anybody who is classed as ‘vulnerable’ to avoid the stress of worrying about social distancing etc and stay safely at home. But for those who are keen to get back to a normal routine and feel the psychological benefits of socialising and a little healthy competition; i can assure you that The Stags Head, along with other pubs who are able, will follow the governments scientific guidelines stringently to ensure customers/players safety. Bar billiards will survive!! (In my pub anyway) Firstly hope you weren't too bad Hev and glad you are recovering and back doing a great job , but it's a weird world as a family of key workers we can go to work , mix with 100's of people at close distance , come home and see 1000's of people not working going to a beach on a midweek with kids (who cannot go to school as it's too dangerous ) and then get told we can't go a pub and stand up , we must stay seated . Finally , yes I will follow any guideline from a landlord and abide by their rules , look forward to coming to the Stag soon , having a pint or two and having a game.

In offering someone a game in a pub that will be following government guidelines on distancing and played in a safe manner after the 4th of June , it was open to anyone who felt safe to do so . Leagues will take longer to get as going as everyone has to feel safe to do so . 3 months ago it was suggested just walking out the door was unsafe , luckily all key workers didn't take this advice .

It is always great to read such positive news on here. Does anyone have any good news regarding the possible return of the game we all (I think) love? Contrary to an earlier post customers will be allowed inside pubs from 4th July albeit under strict rules. Let's hope some pubs will want to keep their bar billiard tables believing that they might secure some regular income Matt , I have been in the bevy recently they are doing a complete refurb but are to keep the billiard table , as someone who has worked throughout in an enviroment that there is no real distancing would be happy to play anyone interested in having a game .
