I have my views and that is the forum is about fun and if that requires a quiz or two then it's ok by me, however I have heard a few times from people that time is limitted to them and if they spend too long doing quizes I guess that means they are less likely to be looking at serious threads like 'change of rules' etc. However, it is just my opinion, if there were NO quizes doesn't mean they would look at threads any closer than they do now. I only click on a few quizes that I think I may know anything about.

.......... I am prepared for someone else to organise a series of polls on how to make the system fairer, but I reserve the right of a veto on anything I don't agree with. Agree with your statement Pete, he even uses similar wording to you ;) :D (Please note the smilies)

3. Three Anglican bishops were burned at the stake in the 1550s. Thomas Cranmer, Nicholas Ridley, and Hugh Latimer. Martyr's memorial is located at St Giles (Magdalen Street/Beaumont Street/Broad Street Junction). They were executed under the orders of Queen Mary Tudor. The actual burning took place in Broad Street and a cross in the road, made of bricks can be seen there. Not sure about the bonus point, but some interesting thing here is that the Nursery Rhyme 'Three Blind Mice' was written about this incident. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Blind_Mice6. Guess but is it the Bodleian Library.

Only joking mate, not sure if it's an over-riding rule I think it's more to do with playing etiquette and sportsmanship, if the ball is touching and is in front I think that It is deemed unplayable, as the player can't play the ball without fouling, and so returned to tray!!! Obviously Newton never played in the Lewes league then, he might have explained: From 2 or the 3 laws: 1.Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. 3. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Or in bar billiard terms the bottom cushion is there to bounce a ball off !!!! :D

But surely there is no gravitational pull in space. I would imagine the compass would just go haywire, like it would at the Earth's (magnetic) north and south poles, in absence of any magnetic pull in a particular direction. Apologies to Q for making this sensible ;) Of course there is gravitational pull in space, that is what creates all orbits of objects or planets, the earth is in the gravitational pull of the sun, the moon is in the same for the earth etc. Satellites have to be corrected all the time to not 'fall to earth'.
