I hope there is no Pool match at the Old House on Thursday, as the table will not be available if there is. Assume that as Pete or Molly are there on Wednesdays they can check out and report back to Joe.

Hello, Aware that the date for rule change proposals has passed. Not a rule change as such but could we have a discussion at the AGM,under AOB perhaps, regarding having a couple of nights set into the playing calendar which could be where we play early rounds of competitions. Would hopefully avoid the position we currently find ourselves in on competitions and may also see a better uptake? Cheers, Gary

No, unless there's a communication I've missed. Feels to me like we need to consider fixed nights in the schedule for earlier rounds like the other leagues for future seasons. An AGM discussion?

Afternoon all!
Am I correct that the status of the individual comps is: Men's singles - three semi finalists known, Mick vs Derek no result yet.
Open doubles semi final - Richard/Mick vs Dave/Chase - no result yet
Senior singles semi-final - Chase vs Derek - no result yet.
All other comps complete?

I think the chances of all Finals being completed before Presentation night are pretty slim. Draws for Singles, Doubles and Seniors haven't even been published yet!! A couple of games are due to be played early next week, I know there have been some delays in getting them played, I expect Derek will update soon. I can understand where Neil is coming from. This will be a tough ask fitting matches in before presentation night.

Tarring Club 2 - 3 The Vine Dave Collins * 5310 – 3950 Paul Barnett Matt Jones * 5740 – 1620 Ros Appleby Mike Formoy * 2080 – 3100 Neil Higgins Bepo * 1280 – 3730 Gary Ridley Tony Collins * 1190 – 1350 Ros Appleby A very busy night at the Tarring Club on Thursday, three home pool matches and a BB match. Parking at an absolute premium, still, I needed the walk. Best game of the night in the first with both players playing well but giving each other chances. Dave closing it out . 1-0 Next up Matt so we elected for Ros. Matt steady throughout but giving many chances, Ros being polite and declining them all. 2-0 Mike on for Tarring with Neil for us. Table certainly a bit trickier now than in first two and lots of odd/unlucky shots before Neil used his experience to bring us back in the match. 2-1 Bepo up next against captain Ridley. I sneaked in front early doors and whilst able to get the break back, was as usual unable to get the break down more than once/twice eventually leaving the one up short (consistent season long theme). Table became loaded and I was able to level the match. 2-2 On to the decider. We drew the 4 player rule participant after the third match so Tarring had decided their tactics and left Tony to take on Ros. Table clearly harder now but many somewhat odd/poor/weird/wonderful shots in this one and it was nip and tuck with the break not coming back all. Tony managed to slowly eke out a lead of 320 with a couple of minutes left. Ros then chased balls all round the back and compiled 380 taking her in front, but both players could win with the last ball. Pressure on - Ros sinks the 100 first time, allowing us to record only our second win all season. 2-3 Good night with the Tarring boys, good spread of sandwiches, an enjoyable evening.

The Vine 1 - 4 Stags Head B. Neil Higgins * | 2140 | 3100 | Bob Osborne | Trevor Rees | 3090 | 3350 | Nigel Senior * | Gary Ridley | 5540 | 4740 | Chris Tupper * | Ros Appleby * | 1840 | 3620 | Jean Brackenridge | Tony Burgess | 920 | 3960 | Phil Osborne * |
Fair to say we had opportunities in the first two legs on the refurbed Vine table. Neil having chances in the first and Nigel closing the second out after the bar. Back of the table remains a challenge though. A thoroughly enjoyable evening with the Stag B even if it was a little quieter than usual!!
