Look at the pretty fading headers...
It'll do until version 5 comes along next year.

wow, i've just been updated.
small headers are good, but i'm not sure about the rest, the new active users bit is confusing. my bottom box was users online. it's now users in past 24 hrs. ::)

There is very little difference in the upgrade, apart from a couple of admin functions that we don't use, such as restricting access to areas to posters have have made enough posts.
The major upgrade is version 5. That contains more interesting options, such as splitting/merging threads, mouse rollover thread previews and new tags to embed Youtube vids and others.
Don't hold your breath waiting for version 5, which is a complete version change, than the time it took to get the incremental upgrade to version 4.5 out.
Sav.

Hi DA, the users online box is still available - you may have hidden it though.
Sav I've yet to try it but I believe the YouTube function works in 4.5 (I'm sure I've seen an example somewhere)

Version 5 will work automatically with new tags. If people want it I will have a look, but it won't be for the next couple of weeks. Until then links will work. Sav.

When I was in print we were advised not to buy any software ending in .0. ie 5.0 There was always bugs in the software. It was always better in wait a couple of months until version 5.01 came out when the software engineers sorted out all the complaints and bugs.

I think there's some bugs in the new version.
"Last 30 posts" doesn't capture everything.
And I'm stuffed on the Quiz Room: bumping my 'special thread' to hide any recent quiz activity doesn't have any effect at all now.
Can we have the old version back ? ;D

C. does that mean we can only play at night times now ? or not at all ? or are we back to the 'seperation' idea ? D. HEAR HEAR !!! older is always better. ;D ;D 8-)

There are quite a few unhappy bunnies on the support forum. Proboards staff seem to be struggling.
I have no control over the upgrade or what version the board runs on.
I guess it's a 'Suck it and see' situation!!

How did you find out about the 'bump' trick then Clive? By doing a bit of pro-active moderating, Q. (There are not that many of us who use our 'full powers' - you, me, IanG, Sparky, the Colemanator maybe). What I really mean, is, I stumbled upon the technique quite by accident. ;D It counts for diddly-squat now, so I must apologise to any who may become anguished at checking last 30 posts and seeing nothing but quizzes. And I count myself among you ! All I can suggest is to imagine the last 30 facility doesn't exist at all, and to catch up on the latest happenings go to the front menu and look on the right for recent activity by checking for 'last post yesterday' and 'last post today' against the particular board that you want.

Just noticed I'd stopped receiving email notification of PM's. The option was turned off in my preferences.
I don't remember changing it ??? ???
