There's a lot of sense in that. I'd even go further, to say that some politicians have represented the 'wrong' parties. Grocer Heath, Heseltine, John Major and Kenneth Clarke should have been Labour, whilst Tony Blair would have made a good Tory.
It's also fatuous that, whilst there are now separate Welsh and Scottish Assemblies, there is not the equivalent for England. And our top governmental posts are held by Scots !
Now I'm not against the Scots and Welsh - they appear in my bloodline - but I also have a sense of fair play. So whenever I have to fill in a form which asks for my nationality, I put 'English' rather than 'British'.

My latest TV Points of View:
Trevor Eve's portrayal of Hughie Green last night was fantastic, uncanny, terrific. And to think Hughie used to be my Mum's favourite. She would have changed her mind if she had seen that programme. What an excellent piece of television! If David Walliams as Frankie Howerd next week matches up, it will be well worth anybody watching.

Al Murray's Happy Hour
TV presenter and West End singer Denise Van Outen, ex-England football manager Terry Venables and former My Family and Sold star Kris Marshall join the Pub Landlord for more quick-fire banter and audience interaction. Plus, the Guv's favourite band Queen perform new material for the first time in 13 years. Last in series
told you so...............

Yes the last Al Murray was good. I found a certain irony, though, in Queen singing All Right Now. It obviously didn't work having Paul Rodgers as Queen's lead singer (who could possibly replace Freddie Mercury ? ::)), so now instead Free have been reformed with the former members of Queen in the line-up. ;D
Can you take your glasses up to the bar please ? Time, gentlemen !
Jonathan Woss was also good tonight, with Catherine Tate, Radiohead and elephant man John Hurt. 8-)

Just picking up on this. You and margo are like two peas in a pod. Given the chance her entire TV viewing would be CSI. She even records it to watch again later. Her favourite is the one with the ginger bloke in (Horatio). At least it keeps her quiet while I'm working the laptop. ::)

Missed Big Al last night, so I recorded it. Now I know everything that happens, may not bother to watch it. Does anyone else remember the old Likely Lads episode where they try all day to avoid knowing the result of the football before Match of the Day comes on.? That's how I feel!
BTW: I hate that bit of the news where they say you have to turn down the sound and look away if you don't want to know the result. Does anyone actually do that these days?

LOL - reminds me of Windmill days with John Turner. His team Charlton were in the Premiership then and if they had a game on the box on League night he would record it to watch later. The pub had Sky TV and at various intervals myself or Mick Wright or Nick Hayes would nip into the other bar to check progress. We'd try and leak the score to John but he'd put his hands over his ears and say "Don't Tell Me !" One night I made up the final score (they were two-nil down the last time I had checked) and slipped in "Charlton won 3-2 !" before he had time to cover his ears. "You b*****d" he said. Imagine my surprise when I got home and found that that actually was the final score !

I think it was a different show, or maybe still the Likely Lads, when "the wife" said:
Ok, I won't tell you the score but you won't see any goals
