Chris my deepest condolences to you and your family, your dad was certainly one of the characters that made towards the reasons a lot of us play bar billiards. Will be missed by many, and please pass on my regards. Tony J

Very sorry to hear of your loss...... :'(
Dave was the reason that I first started to play the game 30 years ago, a chance meeting with him in a pub (The Portland) in Hove and watching him play led to several practice games and a lot of coaching from him over the following few months, before I started to play in the Brighton League.
I only played then for a couple of seasons before having a 25 year break from the game, returning 4 years ago. It was nice to see Dave, buy him a drink and have a chat with him about those days at the Brighton Finals Night last year. 8-)
Our condolences and thoughts go to Pat, Chris and the family at this sad time.

Dear Chris and Pat
So sorry to hear your news about Dave. I always enjoyed his company and he was one of the real old school of Bar Billiards.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

May I echo what has been said by others in offering my condolences.
Dave was one of the giants of the game in Sussex and will be sadly missed.
At the time of domination of other leagues (Worthing, Horsham, Billingshurst, Portslade) in the 1970s, it was Dave with his enthusiasm and imagination that made Brighton 'great'.
He was the driving force, and if you speak to people like Tupper, Leeson, Race, etc - and my old Horsham Interleague colleagues - I'm sure you'll find that they agree with me.
A true gentleman of the game. RIP Dave.
