This is to anyone on the selection commitee, I have a summary spreadsheet available which details what the main candidates for the Enlgand team have done over the past year. If they want me to email them a copy before Sundays meeting then PM me.

Anything interesting come out of the AGM ?
like:
a) How do we stand on the Rules which have received all that effort from Sav ? b) Are the accounts healthy ? c) Who is the new T.D. if not Nigel any more ? d) No new announcements from Ken Hussey/Bar Billiards Ltd on the future of rentals to pubs and clubs ?

Clive, these are the answers to your questions; a) Sav will answer this, but I know he's not happy.!! >:( b) I think so, but the accounts were not ready for the A.G.M. :o c) Dave Alder, as well as being Secretary. :) d) Nothing mentioned. I've not posted a report yet as I really don't know how to describe a complete shambles without sounding bitchy and critical.
The board directors have had a discussion on the AGM as all were there and my description is accurate.
Probably best just to say the officers were apologetic over what had happened and will try to be more on the ball this year. As I consider it unlikely there would be a queue to replace them we should give them whatever support they need.

Being Secretary and Treasurer for many years in the Oxford League i find it hard to understand why the accounts were not presented at the AGM. :o
What was the reason ?

My understanding was that the reason for there not being even any Draft or Pre-Audit accounts was that the Treasurer did not wish to present them in case it was found later that there were errors.

Simply not good enough >:(
Is the accounts to be shown to anyone in the near future or will the members have to wait another year.

Hi Pete
Mark did say that if anyone wanted a copy of the Accounts to let him have their email address and he will send them out, in due course, and although that offer was made at the AGM I'm sure he would do the same for those not present.....so contact Millhouse (PM is easy for forum members).

Is there anything to stop Milhouse from appointing his own auditor of the accounts ? All it has to be surely is someone with a bit of financial nous, and who is prepared to put their signature to them.
Why do AEBBA affairs always have to be in a continual mess ? It is supposed to be the game's ruling body, for goodness sake. >:(

Any form of accounts should be independently examined (used to called audited before trade desriptions).
There should be paperwork and receipts to back up all expenditure.
In AEBBA's case this should also be applied to the Bournemouth accounts which were also not presented.

As I appear (by a simple question) to have dropped Milhouse in it, I would like to 1)apologise to him for causing any embarrassment and 2) try to put the record straight.
Mark had a good reason for not having the accounts ready for the AGM: quite simply he was only handed expense accounts THREE days prior to the AGM, which left the unreasonable target of being able to produce his first full and comprehensive balance sheet for the Sunday. Furthermore, the separate Bournemouth accounts had only been submitted the previous Sunday.
Such breakdowns in communication will hopefully be avoided in future as the new committee cut their new teeth ;D - and the Chairman has now insisted that the Bournemouth information is made available by the end of April each year.
The above information has come to me second hand (not directly from Milhouse) so apologies if there are any inaccuracies contained therein.

The Oxford Bar Billiards Association,s Accounts are always Audited and all receipts shown. :) This would be a good idea if the All England do the same. ;)
If Millhouse need any help or advice I,m willing to offer my services :)

Speaking from sunny Sussex, I can confirm that we were equally spoiled at this year's AGM by a magnificent set of accounts and balance sheet submitted by Richard Wootton. Along with a commentary and open question to the house of what we wished to do with surplus funds! ;D
