Early Supreme in excellent condition, location Christchurch, Dorset: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bar-billiards-table-/221236483306New battery needed for timing mechanism, often prompts the sale. I wonder how difficult the battery packs are to obtain ? Went for £662 after 11 bids.

Almost a restoration project, Riley from Bedford: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antique-Bar-Billiards-table-/290928440695Against: three cups missing; side cush needs reaffixing; no picture of front of table = suspicious: is there a bar mechanism ? For: kept in same family for 38 years and might have been new when bought. Looks good cosmetically. Hopefully the bits that go with it - especially the "toadstools" - can be found. ;D Reckon around £400 would be a fair price now.....no profit on 1975 - apart from vendor having had 38 years' use out of it. ;) Went for a bargain £275 after 20 bids. 8-)

I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's a mainstream make.
Definitely narrow config.

Yes, frame didn't look chunky enough for a SAMs but on reflection agree not wide enough for a Riley top.......perhaps a mod could transfer the last four posts to What else is on eBay? thread as it counts as 'miscellaneous'. Thanks, Sav 8-)
Vendor has since added this comment: Hi. FOUND! 'have found the "mushrooms", the balls and the wooden scoring board that goes onto the front end. It has a mechanical timer at the cueing end to, I imagine, release the balls and start the timer - it works, I've tried it! However, no luck on those two missing plastic rim guards. They still appear to be missing. I'll let you know when /if they turn up. I presume it's not the end of the world if they don't - they look as if replacements can be found.
Expect this one now to be snapped up by a 'table refurbisher' who'll do five minutes work on it and then flog it at double the price !

As you say, this must be totally unique - which is reflected in the asking price of £450.
Amazing that it has survived in workable condition for 100 years. 8-)

Bog standard Supreme, location Burnley: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-Billiard-Table-/200939705646Many of these seem to go on the market once the electronic timer ceases to function when the battery runs out of juice ! Bidding has ended on this item. No takers @ £250.

An interesting one here, location Cheltenham, the hallowed territory whence Sav's prized numero uno table came: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antique-Oak-Bar-Billiards-Table-/111126519584So what do we have ? It's not a standard make, but looks nice and solid with very attractive wood. The width and pockets are are 3-Pin configuration, but from the description it is at the same time longer than a standard table ! The vendor has accordingly been using it for 4-Pin. The baize extends to cover the leatherette section. By vendor's own admission the cushions need replacing (probably hard as a bullock's horn)... I think there are metal leg adjusters in the legs. "New woman forces sale" - hmm ! probably challenged her to a game on it and hogged the table throughout ! a lesson learnt ? Cheerful Went for £555-02 after 12 bids.

Caveat emptor on this one, a 'toy table' from Hemel Hempstead: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-Billiard-Table-/171084086978Looks full size in the picture, but it's only a table top, 4 ft long by 2 ft wide. Requested opening bid of £80 is way too high. Went to a single bid of £80. I hope the winner doesn't have a shock when they go to collect it!

Here's a rum state of affairs from the black country (Tamworth): www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAR-BILLIARDS-TABLE-SLATE-BED-GOOD-CLOTH-OLD-ANTIQUE-BIT-TLC-NO-BALLS-CUE-/161081749655Seems to have Jelkes top (slate apparaently okay) Jelkes frame from the formation of the channels, and (pre-war) Jelkes round legs. So far so good. But......no timer, and where is the rack ? (Thought at first the top had been put on back to front !) Unsurprisingly, no balls or cues: when was a game last played on it ? 'Cos there's nowhere for the balls to come out once potted ! This would be an ideal purchase for a table operator, who could probably use the top as/is, and then do some work on the frame separately (add rack, bar, timer, and cap it off with a Jelkes-style backboard). Not much use in its current state ! This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.

Toy table, 4" x 2" in good condition with Joe Davis plate. Location Sheffield. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Joe-Davis-Bar-Billiard-Table-/271255935571These have no cups and have a hardboard base and no bar mechanism of course ! £40 top whack for this, lack of balls or pegs not really a good selling point.... Went for £56 after 13 bids, a last minute flurry of 10 bids !

What we refer to colloquially as a "Douglas Bader" www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-Billiards-table-full-size-/330995594085Top only, Has def.seen better days......look at the rip on that cloth. If as vendor says the slate is sound, well at least that's something ! Sold for just £26 after 6 bids. Must have gone to one of several re-furbishers who we know look in. They wouldn't have let it go privately at such a low price. A sound slate plus a frame round it must knock the value up to over £100, surely ?

French table, location Hythe, Kent: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/French-Bar-Billiards-Table-Cues-Balls-Working-Timer-/131014697162Overpriced unfortunately at £450, these can be picked up for much less on the continent. Vendor states he's only had it 5 months, but I can't remember seeing this one on eBay previously......The absence of a 200 hole is a standard feature, but this one only has four holes at the back. Which is a shame, as normal French tables have ornate carving on the wood and can be converted to something very smart with the simple drilling out of a 200 hole. But with only 7 holes, this is no good to either man or beast. Conclusion: this one should be sent back to France ! ...and yet it went for a surprising £505 after 2 bids.
