Hi Jase, I'd assessed thus one under the 'narrow tables' thread, but will put it here instead: It went for £891 after 14 bids from 10 separate bidders. Crazy money !

I would add that anyone interested in buying this table should double-check the dimensions with the vendor as this does not look right: Quote:
"43" wide" equals 3 feet 7 inches - whereas a standard width table is 36" (- or 34" for a "narrow"): And although the channel markers are blurry in the photos, my guess is that it's a narrow one.
NB. 67 people are watching this one according to eBay !

These collect in person auctions are incredibly annoying if you're from the north!

These collect in person auctions are incredibly annoying if you're from the north! I wouldn't trust a commercial firm with them Joe. ( and they take an awful lot of brown paper to wrap!!) Tony

Tony But the fun you'd have with that much bubblewrap! I suppose I may be forced to go to the pub to practice instead! Oh dear!

This one from Canterbury is tiny :- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/old-toy-bar-billiards-table-/181393205997Has novelty value, 30 yesrs old but good-as-new and still in its own box. Fewer holes than found on the usual toy tables. Measurements are to follow, but if 2ft long or less would make a good perpertual trophy if mounted on a plinth. Went for £10-84 after 18 bids.

Well Jase, it went for IMO crazy money for an ancient Jeffreys (see other posts about it on this thread). 20 minutes ago it stood at around £500 and then there was a late flurry of activity, with it going for £891 to someone who has never bought before on eBay. Risky ! Even dodgier were the dimensions quoted by the vendor.

This one from Hereford is due to end in tears: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/table-top-bar-billiards-/261468414678£113 already bid and 12 hours to go. Vendor claims it's 'large', but no dimensions are given: Looks very much to me like a 'toy' table no more than 4ft by 2ft, made out of hardboard. If I'm right it's worth £50 tops. Went for £113 after 9 bids.

This is an ancient old thing from Stafford: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bar-billiards-table-/310949440666No maker's name is apparent, and I've never seen anything quite like this before, the 100 hole seeming unusually close to the back five pockets. Could even be a bespoke manufacture - or an early prototype. Accessories include a dogeared set of rules, a set of mushrooms which have seen better times, an amusing brass label about what to do with your balls - and a marvellous old scoreboard, very long and with huge lettering. Extra historical value on this one. Went for £205.15 after 7 bids. The scoreboard must be worth a ton by itself (should have been sold separately)

Ancient French table here located in Orpington: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAR-BILLIARDS-TABLE-RARE-ITEM-FRENCH-BELGIUM-RULES-DESIGN-RESTORATION-/141309952572Quite a few minus points on this one: 1. As is usual with a French table, there is no 200 hole ! 2. The 100 hole is too far down the table to make drilling out a 200 hole viable - despite being the standard width, you still wouldn't get a normal game. 3. No ornate carvings like you usually get on a French table. 4. One ball missing from the set. 5. Scoreboard is for billiards/snooker rather than bar billiards and is too tiny anyway. 6. Left hand 50 cup is absent. Plus point: Working timer which operates on 6d/1p coins. Possibly worth bidding £200 for, but really only suitable for private/home use. Went for £315 after 9 bids.

Russian Billiards, location South East London: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAR-BILLIARDS-TABLE-/221462572646These are quite rare to find and comprise the table top and channels only (no supporting frame or bar or timer). Full size however (6' x 3') and should have a slate base, meaning you can play a proper game on it. £100 opening bid request not unreasonable in the circumstances. Went for £155 after 3 bids. Reckon someone has bagged a good buy here.
